Mike 214 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 Peanuts I said what did he model it in, not when.
Mark 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 He made it in SketchUp. The only bad thing is the large poly count But great work still getting it in-game DK!
Mike 214 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 how many polys?
Mark 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 I think DK said over 50000 faces. But I had to remodel a part so it might be a bit lower now.
Mike 214 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 Does this problem always occur when modelling from sketchup? How would a scratch built 3DS Max version compare?
Mark 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 Yeah it happens for every SketchUp model. That's why me and DK told Grim and BTTFTIME to stop making models for the mod for now. There is no way to choose how detailed an object is in SketchUp, where as in 3ds Max you can easily change the detail to lower the face count.
Mike 214 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 Good call. How long would it take you to remake the windmill in 3d max? If it comes in at a lower poly count it would make more sense to use the 3d max version wouldn't it?
Mark 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 Well I am working on the 1885 Bridge at the moment. We could use that windmill until another one is remade.

Mark 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 Woo bridge Also I didn't make the Delorean. I just use it for scale. Oh and before anybody says it isn't long enough; I use this picture: The scenes in which it is longer is when they used the model for filming.
