I think Doc can't get 88 mph on dirt or grass

I also suppose you're forgetting that he arrived from the other direction.

Well, I'm thinking Doc could get 88:

In the first experiment, the De Lorean started at 65 mph and needed +- 293 ft to time travel.

And in Lyon Estates, they are +- 250 ft.

Maybe Doc started at 70 mph or more to time travel.

When Doc drives through those gates, he then turns to the RIGHT to leave Marty at home. Which means the house is canonically on the other side of the street. Thus Doc comes from the OTHER DIRECTION.

And Marty does too turn right to get home.

I saw the real map were is Marty's house (in Google Earth). Could Doc reach 88 mph on 243 ft?

How about shorter than that? Like the theater in BTTF3, like I've said earlier? :P

EDIT: And how about the time when Doc took the DeLorean to the future for the first time in BTTF1? He managed to do 88 through that same road, with the BTTF1 DeLorean.

He probably landed at a fast speed and then turned on the time circuits, causing him to time travel instantaneously.

Exactly like when you drive over 88 and then turn on the time circuits in the mod.

maybe in the future the landing zone for the flying wasn't too far from martys house so doc came in at 87 mph hit the ground and boof tted.

Anyone see a similarity?

Something tells me that the DeLorean is technically restricted from time traveling mid-landing cycle. Like transforming in Turbo Boost, if you get what I mean.

Most of the Time Machine's systems stall after time travel, so the flying circuit could not bear transforming AND time traveling at the same time. So I am more for the fact that the street is in fact longer. And that Google Earth is wrong.

DeLorean stopped stalling after being upgraded to BTTF2 version..

Is it really THAT big a deal? Obviously there's enough space IN THE MOVIE!!! But from Marty's location and from the first film where they were parked to time travel there wasn't enough space.

Or Doc immediately landed after Time traveling.

I still dont see how this is all a fail :P

end of road======martys house================other end of road

When doc went from 2015 to 1985 he went this way: <<<<<<<<<<<<<

but when he didnt have enough road it was like this-

end of road======martys house================other end of road

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

THat`s why marty said back up. What`s the big freaking problem guys??

Yes, if he would have backed up, but he didn't because of the Flying part.

But then how in the earth did doc appeared like 100 meters before the drivelane of marty in the beginning of the movie?

It just doesn't sound logical that doc time traveled after landing on the street, the fact that we only see doc taking of horizontally cracks that myth aswell.

So:

How the hell did he do it?
