Trojan

Recommended Posts

Oh Crap. The internet really is infected... I only had my computer online for like an hour without an anti virus program after formatting it and then I already got a trojan file ".MS32DLL.dll.vbs" that caused windows to pop errors all the time cause that trojan tries to copy itself on all devices (paritions, card readers) whereas there is no card in the card reader ;).

And I already suspected the card reader icons/labeling to be the villain...

Download them from someone trusted like EZTV, if they don't have it then search for the torrent and read the comments.

I always do this before downloading, such as a virus, I almost antivirus download a virus, but I found another cracked lasts 24,161 days without problems

I too tried that torrent but it didn't work for me. I ended up using BitDefender 2010.

Sorry for hijacking your topic Mini.

No problem, this topic was never the less not intended to be serious :P.

I now figured how exactly I got that thing:

I was on a LAN-Party last Friday at the firefighters and there was one Laptop that coughed much once Avira was activated (the owner of it had it disabled by default ). But before this the USB-Stick with the Keygen and Crack for CoD4:MW was plugged in. The trojan that automatically copies to all drives could find the stick and copied onto it. Once the stick was plugged into my PC, it was auto-launched (due its name) and copied on all my 8 partitions (of that I don't use all :doh2:).

I restored only the first (cause an other issue I had was that my computer froze whilst the installation of DirectX, which wrecked the whole SDK and made it un-updatable) while the others stayed as they were, so it copied again into the system launch once I plugged the external HDD (with 3 of these paritions) in -> I had the trojan again.

Right now I'm loading Kaspersky Security Suite Computerbild Edition (sorta a free version of Kaspersky).

Oh wow.

Kaspersky names this "WormVBS.Sasan.a" and it even affected the boot.ini. I'll never do without prevention anymore .

And finally all of it is removed. I needed to look through the registry by hand, 'cause there were commands for each drive to launch that script if its icon on the computer is clicked, which caused error messages after the script was removed.

Caught a Trojan once, flicked it into the recycle bin.

Anyway, back on topic. I guess this shows how secure you gotta be when using the internet :D

I already got a trojan file ".MS32DLL.dll.vbs"

This for some reason reminds me of the times when people, especially Apple fanboys and Anti-Windows folks (the latter includes Apple), used to suggest Microsoft send viruses to those who use unactivated Windows OS's to force them to activate their Windows OS's, not knowing Windows/Microsoft actually disables a vital part of the security that makes them more vulnerable to viruses and more visible targets to hackers (but they would never send a virus since there's no point in it with WGA around; there are types of viruses that target unactivated Windows OS's so just blame MS for the minimized security).

Caught a Trojan once, flicked it into the recycle bin.

This is the working method of removing Trojans for experienced PC users, unless of course if the Trojan is already activated (if it already is, the file will just return back OR make itself invisible so you can't find it or even delete it via any means).

My mind has been in the gutter lately. When Mark said that the first thing that came to mind is him flicking a condom into a trash bin. Oh, how perverted I am...

It did return, but I dispatched ClamXav to deal with it. Gone now.

And about the whole anti-microsoft thing... Yeeeeaaah, I've got reasons to hate it so much.

everytime i get a trojan i restore my hard drive to factory settings to get it right. maybe i'm not good enough with comps to delete em, or maybe i get wickedly bad trojans. i had norton 360 once, got a trojan and called them. theyre like yeah, for 60 bucks an hours or something rediculous we'll log onto your comp, search it and delete it. i'm like why do i have norton then? yeah, no more norton for me.

I am not good with malware either, it's just malware thinks slow on a Mac. Just proves the platform's unpopularity amongst hackers, or otherwise proves that anti-virus companies create them.

It proves that most people use PC's and it's more prudent to make a trojan for a PC. That way the hacker gets more info. than he would from the people who use Macs.

I will say that they're made by GEEKS (not Greeks), and alot of trojans do send information between the times of 1am and 6am, so you don't notice them. At least several I've seen.

Well fail it is that most people turn off their computer at that time.
