The most 1366 socket motherboards don't even have a IDE connector. :S But your motherboard has one. xD Also, why 1 external and 2 internal DVD burners? daangelo29 5 Report post Posted July 18, 2009 My Acer Aspire L310 PC is still broken because of the f*cked up BIOS, so I'm currently my dad's laptop, a Toshiba Satellite A25-S307: Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3 Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz 1 GB RAM (upgraded) 60 GB HDD space (IDE) Trident CyberBlade XP2 AGP 4x graphics (32 MB VRAM) Realtek AC '97 with DirectSound emulator Wireless LAN connection (11 MB / sec; faster than that crappy D-Link Wireless peripheral that's supposed to be 43 MB / sec faster) External laser mouse (CD-R King lol), keyboard (Newmen) and monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 740N) The thing works like a medium-end PC than a 4-year old crappy laptop. Still works great, in short (I'm guessing it's the RAM upgrade). It can't play games decently though, so I'm using my bro's PC at the moment, which has an NVIDIA GeForce 7500 LE, 1.5 GB RAM and an overclocked Core 2 Duo, for gaming 'till I find a way to fix my mini-PC. If I can't, I may get that high-end gaming laptop my dad promised sooner than expected (YAY). Anyone here planning to get the new Mac OS X (10.6 Snow Leopard)? That is your real name for me, and I will always call you that. He mentioned the name "Mielemann" in the SpillOver forum. I also noticed that he always spell "man" with 2 N's. daangelo29 5 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 It could mean a 32-bit OS. Having a 32-bit OS doesn't mean you can't have a RAM more than 3 GB. My sis' laptop has 4 GB of RAM AND a 32-bit Windows Vista OS. Forgot to mention in the New Releases thread that I'm going for a RAM upgrade too (my laptop supports 4 GB RAM) in addition to the CPU upgrade, but I won't be getting both soon. And since I really don't see it affecting performance (in a bad way) at all, and it's a DDR3 SDRAM so there's more to it than just a RAM, it doesn't worry me much at the moment. The latest Mac OS X (10.6) will support a maximum of 16 TB RAM. Though it is impossible at the moment to install that many memory modules, the OS WILL still support such an amount of RAM. Only about 6.5% of the computer users in the PH are Mac users (counting only those who chose Mac as their personal computer), and being able to find a Mac is EXTREMELY rare here in the Philippines, not to mention the prices of computers here are doubled. While you can buy a high-end gaming custom PC complete with a widescreen monitor, gaming keyboard, mouse, Class 1 or 2 graphics, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB hard drive and a Windows OS with approximately $500, expect being able to only buy a 2 GB RAM mid-end laptop with the same amount of dough here in the PH, and the OS is not even included in the price (you'll need to add more than $100 for the OS's installation).
