iMaster 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2010 (edited) Any ideas how to do that? What if we all, ummm... disable the shoutbox and switch to a simplier theme for a while? Edited January 18, 2010 by iMaster
Mike 214 Report post Posted January 18, 2010 Removal of the time circuits Switch to IPB Pro theme Disable shoutbox Disable Calendar/Birthday/Online user display Those are pretty much the only things I can think of that we can do to reduce the CPU load. Kid Buu 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2010 What about the chat room
Mike 214 Report post Posted January 18, 2010 I could look at dedicated server, but then that's mega bucks. An option we could look at is to pull the site down and rebuild it, by which I mean, backup the whole thing, then delete the account, setup a fresh account, and reupload the site, uploading only what we need. Edit - yup, chat room can go too.

Kid Buu 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2010 Would all the downloads in the download section contribute to the cpu load?
iMaster 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2010 I don't think they're an active part of the board.
Mike 214 Report post Posted January 18, 2010 Since the downloads are file based it does not apply to them.

Mike 214 Report post Posted January 18, 2010 I've made some tweaks to the CPU saving settings, will check with the hosts to see if the load is down to a reasonable level. If it is then I will reactivate the shoutbox.
iMaster 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2010 Or some sort of teamtalk stuff? Why not even open a Headset channel, meaning we can actually shout when getting at each other XD
