I already have an extra DVD-RW/Lightscribe drive sitting around here somewhere.

-For $$1,784.57us

And then I'll still need to get either XP Professional w/ motherboard's bios (might as well pay the extra $10) or Windows 7 (since it'll probably be out by then), but all/most of the media software I have are made for XP and not Vista (obsolete, but still works great).

Need to start saving money...

I have that monitor except it is a 22". Yours looks slightly different, though, mainly the logos and the base, the rest is the same.

Yea. So you guys think that a 400W PCU will beable to handle that and 3 LED fans (built in), and a red LED light.

Yeah but I think 400 is not enough for the graphics card etc, I have a 512mb 9600GT and I needed 500W

Updated List. Now includes PSU.

This Trumps your HALDEL-10,000 Grim.

After I'm done building that, I'm going to buy two 1TB drives and convert my current computer into a server w/ either Linux or Ubuntu. That way I don't have to rely on 3rd party sites (hosts) for my downloads and website (which is currently under construction).

oh sorry, I had meant to post another motherboard (that didn't have an audio card) and then I found this one. As you surmise I forgot to delete the entry.

After I have built that sucker, I'm going to buy this to connect it to. It'll be next to my computer, in my living room.

Cool! But one question: Why 6GB of RAM? 4GB is waaay enough. :P And you say you maybe are going to use XP? In that case is 6 and 4GB RAM useless, since XP only recognizes 3GB (maybe less or more, don't know the exact amount). Also I would buy a HD4890 instead of a 4870. Or you can wait untill Ati launches the new HD5xxx series, so the HD4xxx series get cheaper. :)

Fancy keyboard btw.

I was thinking of the future, when I do upgrade to 7 (once the official release has been out for awhile).

Plus you payed for a mother board that can max to a certain ram. You want to get your moneys worth. Mine can max to 8GB. Eventually I'll do it.

Or for now, you can download the beta. :) The programs that didn't work on Vista now all work on 7.

I hope you don't mean the close future, because that would be a waste of money. :P (Don't know if 'close future' is correct, but you know what I mean).

How is it a waste of money? My PC supports 64 bit that can read all 8GB. And I can keep running newer games over the next 4-5 years without problems. Plus, it isn't jsut for games. I do a lot of HD video encoding which requires a lot of ram.

Mine can max to 24gb under 64-bit. But maybe I will tone it down to 4 for now, save some money.

I actually thought about your subtitle for the thread... HAL wasn't nuts, he was following his programming. KARR didn't go nuts, it was a part of his program. The one computer that went nuts was GLaDOS, but again, she wasn't programmed right.

And who the heck would need 24GB of RAM? I am doing fine with 2 :P
