  1. bolek12, if you don't stop spamming we'll keep suspending your account. The "schedule" I can imagine is this: Next time spamming -> 1 week then spamming again -> 1 month and after that -> 1 year I think that'll bring us some silence. It's not that we didn't suspend you yet because it's too much trouble for us, we simply believe that after some good talking we can get anyone sane. So don't think that you can get around a ban easily to continue spamming .
  2. If I recall correctly for some interiors to work code in the main.scm is required. The main.scm file holds mission scripting for the game (thus scm might stand for scripted missions). A so called "striped scm" is a mission scripting file that essentially has all the missions removed and only holds essential code for interiors, insane stunt jumps, pickups, garages, etc. It might be that Delorean88us either used a stripped scm that lacked the code for these 2 interiors, or for simplicity of our code he stripped it out himself. I edited your thread's title to better reflect this topic.
  3. Quick update: Downloads I found an issue in the database that caused the downloads to not work and fixed it, hopefully that was all. Please keep an eye open for not working downloads and use the report feature in the downloads section. Shotubox/Chat Since the shoutbox acted fine we decided to remove the chat as it didn't serve an extra purpose.
  4. News update! Shoutbox And that is live now. It essentially is the same shoutbox we had in the old forum, just ported to the current version of the software it runs under. It is still to be decided whether the chat will remain, but to my mind there is no need for it. Video Gallery To get to know the feature Mike mentioned I played around with it and discovered it can easily replace the old video gallery with a little bit of effort - et voilá: We have a new video gallery! It now is more tightly integrated into the forum. For instance you can comment on the videos, or subscribe to the gallery for updates. It's not entirely finished yet - as everything around this place at the moment - but it works very well so far. If anything in it doesn't work as intended please let me know. And that's the updates for now, stay tuned! See you in the future! The BTTF HV Team
  5. Everybody knows them, some people hate them while others just accept they are there, or even appreciate them. What I'm talking about are updates. Whether it's your operating system, like Windows in most cases, or web browser - every software nowadays is frequently supplied with updates, and so is our forum software. This version that you're currently looking at, version 3, was released in June 2009. We right away decided that we want to upgrade our dated website as soon as possible. There was only one requirement: we wanted to design an own skin for the forum, so that we don't just look like any other copy of Invision Power Board. But, if you look at a calendar you'll notice that June 2009 was by now more than 3 years ago. Because creating an own skin for a software as big as this takes a lot of time and by far is not easy we simply didn't get around to doing that, so we kept pushing back the update. Due to problems with the old version of the software though that started to arise lately we decided to ditch that idea for now and just upgrade. A skin can come once it's ready. So here we are, in a fresh, new environment. What's new? So you might be asking yourself now what is new. To be honest, we don't really know every detail for ourselves and have to get used to this change now, too. So please excuse us if there's things not working, we might not even be aware of it. What I can say though is: Shoutbox The shoutbox is gone for now. Instead, you'll now find a Chat tab at the top of the page. Clicking it you'll land in a chat room that functions pretty much identical to the old shoutbox, however it has a few limitations. Because it is just the default licence that is included with the forum only 5 people can use it simultaneously. Anyone who clicks the chat tab when there's already 5 people in it wont even be allowed access. Instead it'll for some reason prompt you for a username and a password. We don't exactly understand what's that supposed to mean and why it's not right away denying access, because even us moderators and admins cannot bypass the 5 users limit. But we'll investigate into that in the future. We also don't know for sure yet if we'll stick with the solution, seeing that 5 users is quite little, and an upgrade to 20 costs $20 a year, and, even more importantly, the chat can't be embedded in the forum frontpage like the shoutbox used to be. Let's see, maybe we'll find something better. Please see below, the shoutbox returned and replaced the chat. User profile pictures/avatars The old version of the forum allowed everyone to link to an external picture as avatar that's shown next to each post, and IFT Investors additionally to upload a user profile picture that's shown in their profile. These two features have sort of been merged. You no longer are able to link external avatars and your existing links are gone, but now either can upload one, or choose to show your avatar from Gravatar. The default maximum upload size is 50KB, which seems like a fair amount to me. If it's too little, just talk to us. Also if you want to reuse your old picture and only had it stored online and don't anymore know the link to it by heart you can ask us and we'll probably look the link up for you in a backup of the database before the migration. Downloads While the downloads system is pretty much the same there's one easy statement we can make about its current state: "It means that this damn think doesn't work at all!" If you try to download any file that existed on the site before the migration you'll notice that you don't actually get the file, just a nearly blank page saying "here's your downloads". We are aware of the issue and try to fix as soon as possible. The issue was fixed, please see blow. Mobile Additionally to featuring a mobile skin optimized for smartphones, the new version of the forum software has built in support for a smartphone app. Currently, according to the developer of the forum software, it only is available on iOS, but it should soon arrive on Android. To use it, download the IPS Communities app from the AppStore (while it says on their homepage that it costs $2 it seems that due to many unsatisfied users they made it available for free). Using it you should be able to add this forum to it and set it up to receive push notifications when there's something new here on the forum. If you go to the User Control Panel by clicking your name in the upper right corner of the page and navigate to My Settings -> Notification Options you can quite detailed specify about what you want to receive push notifications. At the bottom of each page in the mobile version it'll also give you the same hint that there is an app for this. Reputation It's been quite a while ago, but in the very first forum hosted on this site there was a reputation system. If you liked a post, you could click a button to express that. The user then got added a point to his personal account. From the amount of points the user had one could tell how much reasonable content a user contributes. This system now is back! Below every post there now is a "Like this" button - much like on Facebook. Click it, and you'll see the member's likes on his profile increase. And that's the most notable changes I can think of so far. If you notice anything that's not working, misbehaving or otherwise strange that I didn't list here don't hesitate to contact us. See you in the future! The BTTF HV Team
  6. Is this the 50's, or 1999?

German language patch for BTTF Hill Valley - Version 0.2e. Installation: Extract the file german.gxt into the folder text in the root folder of your GTA: Vice City installation
  8. While we're speaking of this, I see you're using the code of our timecircuits, PozitiVBttF.
  9. Not exactly right, Leaf. For 0.2f Blue implemented a hack entirely in scm to capture other keys pressed. We also for instance use this to remap hover conversion to the C button regardless of the keybinds in the option menu.
  10. If you ask me then it's not a problem with browsers. The built in download feature in Firefox does it fine for instance, and so should those in Internet Explorer and Google Chrome too. The only advantage a download manager could have is that it opens multiple download streams at once to overcome a server's manual bandwidth limitation, if the server supports starting the download at a certain position in the file. The problem with the download might be that we currently have some performance problems on the server hosting the website. Once it feels like it's doing too much at once it just stops doing it and replies with a "503 Service Unavailable" message. That might also include an ongoing download, but I'm not sure as I don't exactly know how a Windows Server thinks. I uploaded the file you want to the German BTTFHV site that is less fast but should be on a more stable connection: http://www.bttfhillvalley.bplaced.de/downloads/Setup.exe. The link will be valid for about a week from today, probably.
  11. That could be a reason for me to pick up the game again. Haven't played it in a while, but the idea to play in a city I nearly know inside out makes it interesting.
  12. RG's request has been executed with pleasure.
  13. That's interesting, I have never experienced this issue before. It sounds to me like there are changes done to the car that cause the game to crash. It's not exactly that my scripts put you back into the car when you log back in, just the place you were you last left. But if the corrupted car still is there you indeed have a problem. Should I maybe always remove vehicles when a player unexpectedly disconnected (connection timeout)?
  14. Yes, you missed some less important: The - key in the regular keyboard section (so not on the keypad) toggles the Timecircuits and the backspace key confirms the input, that can be done with the set of number keys above the letters. The carcol command has been changed and instead of accepting the carcol IDs it now allows the use of RGB values. Also, an "empty" list will also work, it'll show you a colorpicker.
  15. That simple, huh ? And when I'm home I'll go check what should be there instead of the highrails. Probably it should be the Area 69 floor with some holes capped, but I can't say for sure. Thanks for the picture. EDIT: PC gave me a hint: We don't yet have an Area 69 model for 1955, so that's why there's a void. I completely forgot about that :-/.
  16. No, those 14 MB are only downloaded the first time you connect to the server. However It will download a few kilobytes on each connection for map items, but that's a quick thing. I'd appreciate a screenshot; completely wrong model could mean anything to me . And I never claimed I already fixed Mr. Fusion's animation .
  17. To allow the server to broadcast its name but keep spammers out it now is pasword protected! The password is "marty". The server has been updated! Changes include: BTTF HV script: [*] wheel sparks now go when turning off TCs or after timetravel Area 69 script: [+] added keypads or keycard readers to the doors and bunker gate (jetshaft still to do) [+] added RC vehciles like RC Tiger -> breach into the map room to get them! (weapons are still to do) [*] rewrote code to close doors to not anymore exploit an MTA bug [*] temporarily increased size of doormarkers to work around MTA bug 5513 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Indeed. There's so much I still want to do! No, it is also able to update major versions if I remember correctly. MTA overwrites configuration files (weapon stats, vehicle handling, etc.) in memory once the game is started to prevent cheating. To emphasize it even more: You MUST NOT install any other mod on the GTA:SA install apart from MTA. I only had done minor changes to the map (I removed some models temporarily) and the whole game crashed when joining a server! So do NOT install anything apart from MTA on the game.
  18. Mr. Fusion being out of sync can be considered something I didn't yet tweak enough since I rewrote that code to make it visible to everyone. I rewrote it in a similar manner to all sounds. They can now be heard by everyone in range, and not only those that are in the car. I had a lot of fun with PC when we were testing that out by standing a "timetravel length" apart and I sent cars to him whom he returned. I loved to hear the sudden explosion of the reentry close to me and then have a car pop in . However I never got run over, whereas I must have aimed better for PC in the other dimension - my fourth dimensional thinking must have worked out better . The fact that the effects sometimes stay (for example also when you turn off the TCs when they kicked in) is a minor bug I noticed once I uploaded the code to the server to stop for the night. I'll have that fixed once I get around to tomorrow. And the lag whit a car just that is about to timetravel (speed > 80 mph) or just timetravelled was a bug that, looking at it now, I would call a severe one: As long as you stayed above 80 mph new glowing coil models were created and attached to your car - and that in a 100 milliseconds cycle.
  19. Good news is, we got the car to make some fancy effects that look somewhat movie alike. Bad news is the lab boys say they are lazy on movement and might stay behind.
  20. There doesn't seem to be anything constructive anymore that you feel to talk about.
  21. The server of this website is in the USA, though some of the hostnames end on .co.uk. Do you still want to do a file hoster? There's quite some difference between ThePirateBay and Megaupload. Megaupload hosts the files on their own servers (or servers they rent). ThePirateBay does not host the actual files you want to download themselves. It hosts torrent files, that contain information about the files and how to obtain them. The actual files are stored on computers of those who initially offered the file and those that already downloaded it (partially). The torrent clients I used so far automatically offer the files you downloaded yourself back to the web by default. In brief, ThePirateBay only "links" to the files, and Megaupload actively offered them.
