  1. It would really be nice to have the mod in GTA4. I just hope it's really going to be moddable, but even so I expect it won't be BTTF mod-friendly. Due to the advanced engine it's going to use, there might not be enough 2D particles we can use for the mod. Also, some of the new features of GTA4, like the cover feature, will become useless, since we're sort of downgrading GTA4 to a non-crime genre. I'd still prefer having this mod remain in VC and us finding ways to make it stable, or moving to GTA:SA and taking advantage of the large map, the useful features of SA like the swimming ability (for the BTTF2 Griff chase scene scene) and most especially CLEO. We are in fact finding ways so that anyone can play the mod without the annoying crashes. Just moving to a more advanced engine is almost the same -- in order to play the mod without crashes, we need a better PC, right? It would also be nice if Blue returns.
  2. That's what I've just said, but I removed that sentence in my previous post earlier. I just hope POP:TST makes it through. I like the Sands of Time trilogy. Prince of Persia was one of the earliest games I've played, and seeing it go 3D while still being cool just goes to show the entire POP series rock. I just hope the movie will be, too. I also hope the new POP game will be, too.

    Magnet

Not me. I've been doing the same stuff and the like numerous times now (I've been doing the same for stuff other than a top). It's just that during those past experiments I just borrow a magnetic plate from my uncle, the same plate I was playing with while I was around 3-6 years old . And when we really need it for school, he's gone to Canada along with it. We're planning to buy one but we're not sure if our (the group's) money would be enough to buy the plate.

    Magnet

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/335767/amazi...op_magic_trick/ Is the magnetic plate on the table where the top spins on just an ordinary inexpensive magnetic plate you can buy on the store? We're planning to do this for our investigatory project for our physics class, and I just wanna be sure if buying this magnetic plate would cost us much.
  5. That was actually a Knight Rider reference. In the pilot of Knight Rider (2008), KITT (Knight Industries Three Thousand) asked Mike if he's homosexual.
  6. Never expect all movies to suck before they're released or even made even though they're based from the games. I expected Iron Man the movie to fail like those Japanese children shows I see on TV, but to my surprise it rocked. I expected Resident Evil to fail completely, but in the end my movie review partner ended up shouting like a girl while my heart pounded like hell while thrilled and excited as I watched the movie. The reason why game-based movies suck because they knew little about the game, or made too many changes from the game, or made it too canonical (a la Mario Bros. the movie) that it looked like a game with real-life characters, or the makers aren't good at film adaptations, or simply they suck at film-making. I expect Halo the movie to suck too. It was to be developed and released by Universal Studios and 20th Century Fox, where del Toro or Blomkamp will be the director and Peter Jackson will be the executive producer. The film's preproduction was stopped and resumed many times and Blomkamp even said the project is already dead while Jackson remains optimistic about the film still being made, so I expect the movie to be messy or crap when it is made and released, but I also do expect surprises, hoping that these guys know that they'll fail Halo fans if they fail at this project. As of now, there is no definite release date. We're not even sure if it is going to be made. I'm also anticipating the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time movie on May 28, 2010. The producer is Jerry Bruckheimer, the same producer of The Pirates of Caribbean, and one of its writers is Jordan Mechner, the creator of Prince of Persia himself, so don't expect much that this will suck too.
  7. True, but lightning itself still needs processing, or rather converting, 'ya know. The blue stuff the DeLorean emits in its front and passes through to time travel is no ordinary body of electricity but more like a converted energy (photonic energy) that, when dense enough, can create a temporal rift. You'd be wondering why it's "blue" stuff, and why the wormhole the DeLorean emitted in BTTF3 was red (the damaged Flux Capacitor and the rest of the machine's circuitry made it red). And, yes, after seeing Back to the Future Part 1 again, I did see a lag. Just a bit, but I think it was enough time for the Flux Capacitor to convert the lightning (which is actually 1+ terawatts or 1000+ gigawatts of electricity, 1000x more than what the DeLorean needed) to photonic energy. Time travel was indeed ALMOST instant as the lightning strikes the DeLorean.
  8. I was about to have this for our news reporting in our Economics/Philippine History subject, but the news completely reminds me of one incident I can never forget and can never forgive myself for such s*** to happen.

    CLEO mods

Yes, it is. I have it. But I don't know how the dude was able to have it so that Sonic won't tilt while turning and the turns themselves are completely controllable via mouse -- turns are much easier and faster to do this way. Sonic looks retarded (or is retarded) with those retarded legs, but what I like about it is the speed. I just wish there was really a faster, cooler and non-vehicle-based version of this. Tried searching for a Flash mod for SA too (the Marvel counterpart of Sonic) but no luck. Just this Superman mod.
  10. Yes, and it's based from and named after the butterfly effect. The reason why movies, according to physicists, are too unrealistic is because of the absence of the butterfly effect in those movies. For instance, just being present in the past can: change in weather, make a hurricane stronger or change its course in the future, change the atmospheric temperature in the future, cause a car accident, cause an epidermic, increase the number of deaths in the future, cause a tsunami, cause a person to become an unstoppable serial murderer, make this person fall in love to this person, cause another economic depression, cause more pollution, cause a tornado to form in the future, make a person insane, etc.. Since movies can't be that thrilling or will be too confusing this way, they had to get rid or minimize the butterfly effects of time travel. I mean if you're talking about both BTTF and butterfly effects, Marty never had a chance at all to save his own and his siblings' existences.
  11. For those who have played Shadow of Destiny / Shadow of Memories in the PS2 or PC, and possibly finished all 7 endings of the game, your knowledge of the original game will be useful in this game. This "sequel game" I made is in a way linked to the original game. This game, if it did make it to specific situations that are directly connected to the original game, may also explain one interesting phenomenon in one of the endings of the original game. In this case, this may also serve as a sort of spoiler for those who haven't played the game or haven't unlocked specific endings of the original game. I'll leave this thread for you guys to vote until I get at least 7 voters for the question(s). And for those who would ask what is this for, this is for me to get used to making multiple endings for my planned and/or ongoing game projects, and also to test you guys with your knowledge concerning time travel, paradoxes, butterfly effects and ripple effects.
  12. It's not only that people are not much into metal. The dude used guitar and drum programming. The entire song is computer generated. If the guitars are human-played, it would be better.
  13. CHAPTER ONE: THE BEGINNING OF THE END Part One Friday March 23, 2007 8:12 PM Benjamin Kusch, a 17-year old orphan who's now in his 4th year in high school, goes to his favorite bar, Walter's Place. Upon entering the bar, he meets up with his bartender friend Herald Mendez. Herald: Well, what brings you here, Ben? Ben: I'll take 3 bottles, Herald. Herald: Again? What brand? Ben: You know what I want, Herald. Herald: Ok, coming right up. *Brings out three bottles of Ben's favorite brand of alcohol* Herald: So again, what brings you here? Ben: Oh, nothing special. Just the usual. Herald: Really? It's Friday. It's not like you to go here on Fridays. Herald receives a text message from Dr. Lily Garter in his mobile phone. Herald checks the message. Herald: I see. I think I know what's your problem. Ben: That's Dr. Garter, right? Herald: Yes, and she just told me everything. Sorry about what happened, dude. Ben: That's OK. Besides it's cancer. Even how much I tried to take care of my father, there's nothing I can do to stop it. Herald: Well at least you did your best. For a foster father, he treated you well and you treated him well. You both established a good father-and-son relationship, and that's a good thing you both did. Also, Dr. Garter is expecting to see you back in your home. She's been waiting for you there for 2 hours now. Ben: Nah, I'll stay here. It's not that I'm scared of the lady. I just want to get rid of this s*** from my head first. 10:32 PM 2 hours later Herald falls asleep after drinking 3 bottles of alcohol. Few seconds later, Herald attempts to stop him from deeply falling asleep. Herald: Ben. Wake up. Don't fall asleep now. It's 10:30 PM. You should really be going. Ben: *Wakes up* You meant 10:32 PM. I know your watch is always 2 minutes late. Herald: I know, but you've got to go. Dr. Garter just called me and asked my where you are, and I've just told her that I don't know. I'm sorry dude, but you've really got to go, otherwise she'll call cops to find you. It would be best to just go back home than have cops track you down. Ben (while drunk): F*** the cops! I'm going to stay here. I'm a big embarrassment to everyone out there. I'm at risk of not being able to graduate, my classmates hate me and I've just let my uncle die while I sit there like an a****** in the hospital. My life sucks. I'm not gonna show my damn face again. Herald: Ben. Listen. I know your classmates' been giving you a hard time, but this is for your own good. Dr. Lily Garter is a psychologist, and if you've forgotten she's also the one who took care of you while you were still in the orphanage. I'm pretty sure she'll still understand you. What do you think Ben should do? A. Follow Herald's advice and return back home B. Grab another bottle then return back home C. Stay where he is and rest in the bar Chosen answer: A (Follow Herald's advice and return back home)
  14. I'm going to restart this thread. I just realized I've done something wrong that will ruin the entire plot. Shadow of Destiny is a simple-to-play logic-driven situation-based Q&A time travel game based on the original PS2/PC game of the same name. Just vote for the answer in the poll above. Whichever has the highest vote will be the chosen answer. Note that your answer will determine the kind of situation Ben, the protagonist, will face next afterwards, and eventually the type of ending you'll get in this game. (I've planned about 4+ endings for this game). Take your time in reading these posts. Some or most of the information shown in the story will be vital in the rest of the game. Commenting, like telling the answer you've voted and the reason why you chose that answer, or perhaps debating with other members about the right answer, would be best in this thread.

Hey GS, can you give me the link the superman CLEO mod?
  18. I've seen this before (in fact many of us here did), but I've just realized that the lag between each sonic boom depends on how long or short the trip is. Since Einstein was just send 60 seconds to the future, the lag between each sonic boom is short. But we're not sure if that's anyway canonical or true to the movies. It does sort of cause conflict with the concept of time travel of the movies, like how the DeLorean time traveled during the 1955 Clocktower lightning strike scene. If this concept was implemented, according to my understanding, they'll still be a sort of lag before time travel when the lightning has finally reached the flux capacitor, but in the movie it all occurred almost instantly when it hit the DeLorean. But I can be wrong.

    CLEO mods

LOL Does any of you know any SA mod of the like, where CJ can run as fast as Sonic in the vid above?
  20. Yeah, sort of like that. The cake prize is true, but winning it isn't.
  21. A: No. Q: If you ever had a time machine, what would be your favorite or most preferred destination time?
  22. True, but we don't know or are not sure if our current 2015 cars do have variations.
  23. It's both actually. They knew "Clint Eastwood" was killed when the runaway train he rode fell into the ravine. And in honor of his heroic act against Tannen, they named the ravine Eastwood Ravine. Like Clara, they named the ravine in honor of the person who died in the ravine.
  24. 1. The Mr. Fusion is actually the parody of the Krups coffee machine, which is depicted in the photo, just as two/one of the Bobs said (if I remember it right) 2. Didn't 1955 Doc already explained that to Marty in BTTF3 when Marty asked Doc if there was an Emmett Brown in their family before him back in the 1880's? 3. Seeing the "Lone Pine Mall" on the sign is not that hard to spot in BTTF1, but for some reason many people did miss seeing it 4. It was shown clearly in BTTF3 that the ravine was renamed as Eastwood Ravine, when Marty arrived at 1985 and made it through the completed bridge. If you looked at the Back to the Future FAQ (click here), you'll know that the Ravine was renamed two times --it was renamed first from Clayton Ravine back to Shonash Ravine when Doc was sent to 1885, where Doc prevented Clara from falling to the ravine, before it was renamed to Eastwood Ravine when Marty followed him to 1885 as "Clint Eastwood". All of the facts you've mentioned were mentioned in the commentaries of the BTTF DVDs. Most of us here already know all of these stuff.
