K.I.T.T. 2 Report post Posted January 5, 2009 no, not really. you could build a better one than that for a few hundred less. and why would you use an HDMI to DVI cable. im sure it will have a DVI-D slot on it aswell. also if youre gonna get a quad core at least make it an 8mb or higher one. what are you planning on doing with it? gaming? media work? raybob 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2009 no, not really. you could build a better one than that for a few hundred less. and why would you use an HDMI to DVI cable. im sure it will have a DVI-D slot on it aswell. also if youre gonna get a quad core at least make it an 8mb or higher one. what are you planning on doing with it? gaming? media work? Well, without any of the software, monitor or printer I need, it would be about 1200 or 1300. Also, it does have DVI, but for some very odd reason an HDMI-DVI Cable is cheaper than DVI-DVI on Amazon, where I plan to buy it. Third, there was an 8MB Cache processor, but used 65 nm technology, 2.4 GHz and a 1066FSB,which I feel outweighs the cache loss. Also, I do a lot of internet surfing, I have many old games that are weak and GTAVC, and also I like watching movies, but not really any media work, no, but the main thing I do is MULTI-TASKING which is why I opted for the Quad-Core and 8GB Memory. My old Single-Core computer can't do that at all. For example, I may be at times running Mozilla Firefox, GTAVC, TXDWorkshop, and Microsoft Word at the same time. EarthwormJim 1 Report post Posted January 7, 2009 two words, CUSTOM BUILD. NEVER buy a pre built package deal computer, your always going to get a FAR better and FAR cheaper computer if you order the parts and build it yourself. if you know how to that is
raybob 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2009 (edited) two words, CUSTOM BUILD. NEVER buy a pre built package deal computer, your always going to get a FAR better and FAR cheaper computer if you order the parts and build it yourself. if you know how to that is I've been comparing the prices with Dell and parts alone, (Dude, I'm not stupid) and most of the upgrades, plus the base cost are actually cheaper than a custom build, besides I'd be willing to pay an extra 100 or 200 hundred bucks to save the trouble. Also, this Studio I just built for $1,888 including tax, shipping, etc., and I think it's a good deal.
