Indeed, i work as a computer technician, and i have three theories about your problem:
1- Your graphics adapter is bad, either turning up heat real fast or, just with some electric components with physical problems.
2- Your chipset has broken trails, in this case, i'd recommend sending to an authorized assistance
3- Video drivers are corrupted, and when you turn on some video software, it loads the codecs corruptedly into memory, causing an overload, that's why the screen goes blank, it kills the video, in corrupts the drivers that are loaded into the memory, and tries not to hang the system, so when it goes into a loop like this, the system automatically shuts down to prevent hardware damage, in this case, i'd try downloading the newest vdeo drivers, uninstalling the current ones, and reinstalling with the newly downloaded ones, rebooting, and if it fixes, it fixes.
Note: theory TWO, if true, can cause the symptoms of theory ONE, which by itself, can cause the symptoms of theory THREE, that include drivers corrupting and GPU overheating.
i hope i helped a little
