  6. So i got it working well, and thnx to mini me, i can use the SA map cleaner w/the BTTF SA mod. I still havnt got it pre lit, as i cant get the radiosity solution right. it always says invalid. we have already established the quality of the model. anyways the quality of the model aside, please just try to enjoy the video. i have a ton of fun riding pumas hoverboard around and of course flying the delorean. if you guys want, i can make this version available for download.   8. i ran through the process a couple times, i'm trying to put a light in a map object. hasnt worked for me yet. any of you guys use em at all?
  9. skecthup models can look great in game if you make them from scatch knowing they will be in game. i get where microman is coming from which is why i was converting the 2015 map. i plan on still finishing it, but i need to split it up into like 10 models. I know Lgisby means no harm, but why not make some fan made maps while we wait for his high quality ones? there is a 1885 jack sparrow model. it's ok as far as sketchup goes, but so much needs to be done to his models to make them work in game properly as they were not originally intended for that.
  10. i just wanted to convert a quick model for people to play if they like. i'm a wannabe? have you seen any models i've created from scratch? do you know if i even have any? yeah maybe its not the best, but i'm hardly a wannabe. how many other fan made maps do you see posted here? and way the be open and receptive to new people. nice to meet you too LGisby. something that was meant to be fun and perhaps intresting for people since you all havnt made a 2015 map yet. i can only be so offended since i didnt make that model. but you dont even know me or my skills. its just disheartening to hear such disrespect. do you even know what common courtesy and constructive criticism are? and even if someone wasnt as good as you, your gonna call them wannabes? dude, you suck. you must be lead modeler cuz your social skills are completly obsolete. this forum has more DB's than any other forum i've been on, and that includes GTAforums. Bold statement. If you came to colorado and tried to learn how to ski or snowboard, the last thing i would do is laugh at you or call u a wannabee as i snicker with those in my tight nit, strict criteria community. even though you'd prob flail.
  11. i like the autopilot feature. especially the last when it comes and lands near you. thats awesome.
  12. theres 107 textures, but theyre all 1.778x1.778 inches. i could maybe cut those back too by subbing textures over others and deleting em.
  13. hmmm, why's it drag so bad then?? my system is decent, but it may have something to do with it. i'llpost the specs if ya like.
  14. its split into 2 pieces right now. 1 is 31,000 and the other is 21,000. so bout 52,000. i think the letters are making a diff and of course i'll trim out anything thats not needed.
  15. I really think its the lighting. oh well. the letters on the buildings and signs are 3d and high poly. if i turn them into flat textures it will reduce the poly count significantly i think.

  17. yeah thats cool. the 55 one must be good. the reason u can see through the lake is cuz theres no face there. i was gonna put it low enough to the SA water to make it have real water in it

  19. sorry select 1 object, go to edit geometry (i think its in the modifier tab) and hit attach, then select the other object.
  20. hey guys! check this out!! its a 2015 map for SA! I DID NOT MODEL THIS, i am merely converting it for SA which is no easy task. There is still obviously a ton of work to still be done. Although its so high poly that my game really drags, so i dunno what to do about that. This model came from google warehouse where there are a few other HV models. the original author is koen " jack sparrow " jespers. Nothing is pre lit, there a few faces i need to add, and so on. just wanted you guys to see it and maybe gimme some input. i wish it didnt make my game drag a$$ so bad. I'm also adding in game trees later. anyone know how to make this thing run better without gutting it?

  23. i totally agree. the limit adjuster shuts my game down too after 5 secs,on this mod, or just using the limit adjuster. u can use the stripped scm but it'll still shut down after a few mins.
