Nice little tool for 200/XP/Server2003 & Vista

Recommended Posts

Over the weekend I was looking for a way to get XP/Server2003 to install on my new PC (turns out they just don't like installing from a SATA DVD-Rom Drive, connect an IDE and they fire straight up).

In the process of search for an answer, I stumbled across a very useful program called nLite. It will slipstream Windows Service Packs and Hotfixes, as well as enabling you to integrate your chipset and other drivers, all at the click of a button.

I see this as a very valuable tool for people (like me) who rebuild their OS regularly as it will enable me to keep my install CD up-to-date with all the latest patches, no more waiting for windows update to download xxx amount of updates. :D

for 2000/XP/Server2003: http://www.nliteos.com/nlite.html

for Vista: http://www.vlite.net/about.html

Enjoy.

It's awesome, I fully updated my Windows XP Pro install CD last night. I added Service Pack 3 and every single hotfix that has been released up until yesterday. Means I won't have to spend half my life on Windows Update when I do a rebuild. As a bonus I also integrated Windows Media Player 11.
