"In a terrible case of life imitating art, Christopher Lloyd’s primary residence in Montecito, California was destroyed beyond salvage late Sunday in the wildfires which have been ravaging the Los Angeles area this week, Writer/Director Bob Gale tells Bttf.com. “You watch TV, you see these kinds of incidents happening here and there, but you look with a kind of detachment because it’s happening ... elsewhere,” Lloyd told CNN as he explored the remains of his house. “But suddenly to be in the midst of it, it’s a very different awareness.” Fans may remember the newspaper headline clueing us in to the fact that Doc Brown’s home burned down prior to the events of the first film. Bttf.com reports that Lloyd’s 5,500 sq. ft. home had previously been listed for sale last year for $11.3 million, but the actor withdrew the property from the market recently so he could make upgrades."
