Evil Morning Operator 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2012 Hey guys! Is there anyone who has knowledge of graphic cards? Ifso, would that guy/girl please stand up and lend me a hand. For my study I need an Apple Macbook Pro 15,4 inch with a ATI Radeon HD 6490M to beable to run Autodesk Maya at full capacity. The only MacBook's I can find are having a NVIDIA Geforce GT 650M in it. My question is: "Is that grapics card better then the ATI one?" Thanks in advantage!
MK3424 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2012 The Nvidia is better according to these links: because of the CPU, Memomory speed, and the fact it has 2Gb dedicated memory http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-650M.71887.0. http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD...0M.43843.0.html So i suggest to take the one with the Nvidia

Knight Bob 1 Report post Posted August 30, 2012 Didn't look at the specs, but I would go for Nvidia, only had problem with the ATI cards I had, I have one now. I can't play a game, use he hardware for any hard work, ore else my Card of Driver will just stop working. Not to trigger a war ore something like that, but I would go for the Nvidia. RG 1 Report post Posted August 30, 2012 The newer MBP has better graphics, it would be dumb of any company to release a new product with worse specs than the previous model. Therefore, Nvidia's card is better in this situation. I did explain to EMO over Skype how he doesn't really require a Mac for Maya, but that's up to him to decide.
