tv thinks hdmi is dvi no sound

my tv seems to think that the hdmi is dvi and it is getting no sound from it either, scart works as it should because my ps2 boots up and does the standard boot up sound. the xbox 360 gets no sound on the tv either, have tried 2 different cables. it is a bush l319led. i am planning on replacing it with a new tv but thought i would ask what the problem could be. this problem occurs plugging both my computer and xbox 360 into the tv.

are there other hdmi ports you can try on the tv?

nope only the one, replaced it anyway and my new tv is working perfectly.

That's good to hear! How old was the previous one? Was the problem always present?

no the problem was only appeared a few days ago, the tv must have been 3-5 years old which is a good length of time for a bush tv to last.
