TheCoolest2 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2010 (edited) If you guys know George Steinbrenner, the owner of the Yankees Baseball Team in NYC, US, has died at 80 years old, and he died a week after his birthday, July 4th, 1930. Well for the ones who don't know: A History lesson from Daniƫl Vosselman: "New York used to be New Amsterdam a colony of The Netherlands. In The Netherlands some man's are called Jan or Kees, some of the original dutch inhabitants stayed down in the then called New York. And because some dutches where called Jan or Kees they made the name New York Yankees. And that's how that name got around."
