  1. Look 2 posts up.

Also we are talking about the telltale episodes, which is an adventure game and not a free roam. Those are more linear in nature then your typical free roam game and would not need a mission structure. What gta does is irrelevant to a non-gta genre game made by a non-r* company

And I disagree with the mission structure being the only way to do a free roam game. Minecraft is a perfect example of that.

  2. Not just the objectives but how do you create the sense of urgency and make it natural to want to run away. How to make the player feel like Marty in other words.

Not only that but how do you write other missions. How would the player stay engaged when doc is taking the delorean for a spin? How would the first day of school be handled? How would convincing doc that you really did cone from the future work? And this isn't just for the fans to ponder. The team has to write out a script of how it all fits together.

  3. Big bump. I think this needs to be talked about since I myself don't see much if anything in this area. Yes, it's based off the movies. The question is how will the player be involved in the otherwise 2 hour long cutscene. For reference, only talking about the first movie

  4. What I think should also happen is for the team to start talking about the storyline again and planning out the "missions" Even if the models are not their yet, its always a good idea to start planning how to reimagine stuff in gta, as not everything from the movies will translate over nicely.

  5. Another one, yep, but with a few more people this time.  Props to Vivek from OffTo55 for finding links.

  6. ugh, no you miss my point. I mean tweaking it to make it look better, like better textures, better color, size adjustments, different animations, etc. That kind of stuff is particle editing that I'm talking about, nothing code related. I wasn't even talking about the coils, but the existing effects. Though neat, they need a lot of tweaking before it looks right, because right now, it looks like some fire and a bunch of electricity with no real definition of the wormhole. Just stuff thats easy to do with the existing particles, like how I first started.

And FYI, I did not use coronas in SA. They became deprecated by then.

  7. Well he's trying but the correct opcodes are still unknown :S He's asked for help at GTAF but no one in answering.

Particle editing (or adding if THATS possible) isn't coding related.

And that sounds like my experience back then.  After a while, I gave up and never asked again :S
