the adjustment of the cpu is for these reasons
1 lower to 22 to save battery life when running anything that is not cpu intensive such as 3d applications and umd's
2 raise it for any games that need the full processor power

so you have an ofw 3.95 , you need to install a new firmware using a hen method or a pandora you also need to make sure you have the right model of psp to hack.

Well I've been sitting on this for a while , the ability to play hill valley on PlayStation 2.
this is for the slim line playstations only!!! find another way to hack a playstation 2 original!!!!
since the ps2 version is not very stable you cant have custom cars, sounds or custom textures
that being, I've rewrote the main.scm and american.gxt to work with the PlayStation 2
this tutorial will cover everything from the best way to hack a PlayStation 2 to run unsigned code, to burning the disk

A. Disclaimer
If you break the PS2 in any way it is not my fault, I am not responsible for anything you do. I will not replace you're ps2 if you were stupid enough to break it, you can fix it or buy a new one.
1. Checking the Playstation 2 if it can be hackedChecking the Playstation 2 if it can be hacked
if you're ps2 is in the SCPH 90000's this will nto work, if its in the 7XXXXX series it can be hacked.
2. Supplies needed
Electrical tape
philips Screwdriver
Slim Playstation 2
a DVD-R (others will not work!!)
a copy of 007 Agent underfire or nightfire
a memorycard with atleast 2mb of free space
an IQ larger than 10
a usb flash drive
a dulled razor blade
active internet connection
3. The Tape Mod
unplug everything from the playstation 2
this includes but are not limited to,
power cord
video cord
memory cards
controllers
ethernet cable
usb input devices
disk in the tray
take the razor blade and pop off the tabs under the PlayStation 2
place them on the underside of some electrical tape to keep them sticky
take the screws out and put them on the tape too so you don't loose them.
gently lift the top of the console off and flip it over,
remove the disk brake assembly screw from the flip top, and take the disk brake off. you wont need it, throw it away.
place the top of the playstation somewhere out of the way that you can find it later
there is a sensor on top of the power switch.
take the razor blade and cut a small peice of electrical tape, place it over the switch be careful to not cover the small power LED
in the back of the playstation near the drive assembly on the left is a small white square, next to that is a black switch , press it down with a good amount of tape, re assemble the playstation and plug everything back in.
4. Burning the hack disk
for this step you will need to download this package
save this for later
inside the PS2 Package.rar you will find this directory
PS2 Package.rar
>PS2
DRIVING.ELF
>>programs
>>Files
insert your Agent underfire or nightfire ps2 disk and make an iso of the program using imgburn
use apache.exe to open the iso
select one of the DRIVING.ELF in the iso to replace
click iso tools
click change TOC for selected file
right click the replacement file and go to properties
in general you will see the file size followed by the size in bytes
enter the bytes into the TOC , do not change the LBA, click update file.
find the file in the iso again and hilight it
click iso tools again and click update selected file
burn the iso with imgburn
download this package next
copy all contents to a usb drive
you are ready to crack the memory card!
5. The Crack
insert your Legal copy of 007 agent underfire or nightfire.
play the game until you get to a mission where you have to drive a car, save the game and go back to the main menu
insert your usb drive
open the tray and swap the legal copy with the new disk very quickly.
load the save for the driving mission, and run the mission
you will be greeted with a menu
locate mass 0 and run freemcboot.elf
install the multi version so you can hack other peoples ps2's with your memory card and a usb drive
6. Burning Hill Valley
insert your legal vice city ps2 disk and make an iso of the program using imgburn
use apache.exe to open the iso
select one of the 3 files provided in the iso to replace (handling.cfg. main.scm American.gxt)
click iso tools
click change TOC for selected file
right click the replacement file and go to properties
in general you will see the file size followed by the size in bytes
enter the bytes into the TOC , do not change the LBA, click update file.
find the file in the iso again and hilight it
click iso tools again and click update selected file
repeat this for the next 2 files
burn the iso with imgburn
7. Playing the game.
pop the disk in the ps2 and run open ps2 loader

well since vice city was a different build version almost all the points in the games code was changed, we didnt get too far into adding car slots but we did remove a datablock that made extremely large files in the exe break the game, most of lc was able to be ported to VC but we did it really badly and it was even less stable than 0.2e we'll be trying again soon though.

after hacking the EXE we were able to remove just about every limit in the game.\
we even added car slots for any custom vehicles.

Most of you know how the LC mod started, some of you may not. This topic is to serve a start of the new category.
let's get started.
back in 2003 there was talk online about a grand theft auto 3 back to the future mod, albeit being a bit hoax by lov1tt and futureboy 1955 they promised to make a mod much like hill valley is today, this mod was talked about two years before the start of hill valley, they even have a hosted website here
the first recorded conversation about making a real BTTF mod for GTA III was on this exact date

after that topic was made you wouldn't see or hear anything about a gta III mod for a long time
during the dark time there was a mod arising over the horizon , Cleo for GTA III had been released and Ziero recruited some members on the Hill Valley website to work on a mod which was deemed impossible. this lead to working on several cleo scripts, first was a real time clock, then a speedometer, and lastly a very simple Nth dimension script because of a weather glitch when going over 24 hours, the mod was then showcased again on hill valley late 2009, the topic lasted quite a while because of the constant updates, and cracking into the games EXE to make custom code when we were close to our first release we already had lots of fans, and quite a few enemies, upon release of the now known 1.1A the topic was shut down and deleted due to hill valleys team not wanting to be affiliated with a mod that had copyright content, after many months of working underground, moddb, and our own website, as well as talking to the hill valley team members about their own copyright content such as the 0.2E intro video, we came to an agreement that LC was able to be talked about on hill valley, when lc was brought up, true fans of hill valley would raid the conversations with negative talk or generally immature actions, the mod soon went dark again on hill valley , Ziero resigned leadership the beginning of 2012 and handed over the mods ownership to me. I got very sick of the flame-wars and members fighting over the games and making it look like the teams hated each other when in all reality we are all very good friends. so I posted an open letter to any and all fans, as of today 1.1B and 0.2f can safely release near eachother without an explosion somewhere else in the world.

well if it helps your studies for finding a decent way to do it heres how we do it in lc, we disable the box rendering enable a custom corona, (billboard object) for each light. and a brighter png of the headlight as an overlay and lastly we add a beam

yeah i find it a bit hard to read ebooks on such a small screen, i know you can zoom but it gives me a headache
