  1. Well, I do have plans for a server myself, but you've got a point. LOL

Btw, is my speed any good for a server? I'm planning to set-up a private Minecraft server so my cousins and I can still play when I'm at school. I have tried setting up already for Beta 1.6, but it was short lived. We shortly afterward decided to wait for 1.8 (and all of its possible bug-fix updates).

  2. and thats a problem because? there was gta:london dont forget.

GTA: London was a set of unofficial expansion packs, or a "Mission Pack", to the first GTA designed by DMA Design using modding tools made by the awesome modders of their time (who were, I think, the inspiration to having the mod tools we have for today's GTA). It was not an official title. This, plus I don't think R* themselves would ever plan to have a real location as the basis of an official title of the franchise in the future -- even if DMA Design is now known today as R* North.

In my opinion, it shouldn't be just based on Las Vegas or Las Venturas. How about the entire state of San Andreas (with a few enhancements or changes like how they've did it for GTA4's Liberty City), running in an enhanced engine of GTA4? Now THAT is a game I'll definitely be looking forward to.

  3. I'd recommend bootcamping with Windows 7 or XP instead. Would spare you most of the problems Parallels and VMware may have. You can do something like mine where my Windows in my Macs are customized to be for gaming reasons only -- i.e. the taskbar is hidden, and the desktop icons are also hidden, and the thing visible in your desktop are a dock app for your games and some nifty desktop gadgets. If it is just for old games, however, Parallel or VMware would do. You can try and check videos of games tested out in Parallel or VMware in YouTube for reference. :3

  4. How can you tell the grade of a connection? Mine's just as fast as the others with Grade F, but it says Grade A-. Is it country-based? Here's mine, btw.

In another note, can I know the IP address of your MC server, Mike? I may plan to join after v1.8.

  5. Endermen remind me of the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who, except they're tall and peaceful Mobs who simply want to share the fun of building stuff with you until you p*ss them off by staring at them straight with your eyes. Should one become hostile, you must not blink nor look away, otherwise they'll be quick (and silent) enough to kill you.

I think it will change the game's formula permanently. From a peaceful game (peaceful in the sense that as long as you avoid those annoying and frustrating green exploding d***s roaming at night) to a game that can evoke fear. I'm not sure how the game will end up from now on. Probably it will feel like your first night in Minecraft, except you'll be scared to hell for the rest of the game because it WILL be your worst fears realized.

Here's a cool fan-made video of what it may feel like being hunted (or haunted) by an Enderman:

    " width="600px" height="361px">
    " />
    " width="600px" height="361px" allowFullScreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" />

Btw, I think wearing pumpkins will keep Endermen from finding out you're staring at them.

  6. On a lighter note (no pun intended) Note blocks don't work (or just play a 'thud' to be more specific) when you place them on Cobblestone. Is this intended or a bug!?
cobblestone makes it sound like a drum
So, does that mean there are other blocks that change the sound or are they the only 2 sounds. And how do you find all this stuff out? <_<

The block below the Note Block determines what instrument it plays. As far as I know, wood plays a Double Bass, stone/cobblestone a Bass Drum, sand a Snare Drum, glass a clicking instrument (sounds like drum sticks only it can play notes), and pretty much everything else (incl. a 'space block') a Harp.

On another note, someone in the Minecraft Wiki made a comparison bet. a normal Creeper explosion and a charged Creeper explosion, strong reminder that I should get away from those Zeus-blessed green exploding d*cks.

  7. And those are huge brown and red mushrooms. I wonder what they're for, mainly. I currently have mixed feelings about this new villages thing.

wouldn't that mean no more gaming videos, wouldn't that include the BTTF mod!!!!! :o :o :o

Not sure if that's gonna happen. This mod is just one of many to consider. If it ever happens, it will be hell in the modding community.

Well I just had a nice greetings with teamavolitions griefing team lol, I explained to them how they failed as i can use /undo they were like PIECE OF s**t lol, I'm gonna laugh if they made a video of it

    LOLOL

    There's an undo command? lolpwned

  8. Ravines added in 1.7:

Unfortunately, this, along with the "Adventure Updates", have been moved to 1.8.

Also I'm having lots of fun with pistons, I thought they'd be rubbish but they are addictive.

I have noticed a bug with the pistons though, when the piston is on and you get squished between a rock and a hard place while in '3rd person' it automatically switches to '1st person'.

That may not be a bug. They prolly put that in on purpose so that instead of having an awful camera position while in tight spaces and in 3rd person, it automatically switches to 1st person.

Indeed. They're fun. But I still find the original mod-version of the pistons better.

  9. I keep getting Lighting errors, where when it goes dark some areas stay lit as if it were daytime. And when it come light some areas stay dark as if it were nighttime.

That'll be fixed soon in 1.6.6. Hopefully. Anyways, this is no new bug to me. I've seen this lighting problem long before 1.6 (and it is especially more noticeable with the Somnia mod), so perhaps Notch is planning to fix it along with the rest.

Died and spawned not at the original spawn point on my server

LOL. That's another 1.6.5 bug. Will be fixed in 1.6.6, too.

Not just that but some chunks don't even render, so you can see through everything.

That's most likely the Advanced OpenGL setting. Try playing with it, turn it on and off and back, until the invisible chunks finally render.

  10. Indeed. Beta 1.6 is glitch-y as hell. I however consider this the "bug-fix" version. Stuff like the booster glitch fix are for the best. But I still hope there's a better, easier way to allow those mine carts to move than collecting hard-to-find gold for it.

The maps are pointless, unless what you are looking for is over 128 blocks in diameter

Well, there ARE many, like us adventure gamers, who love to explore the GINORMOUS Worlds. Yes, there are other ways to not get yourself lost, but if you don't want to waste resources like Torches in places you don't want to occupy or turn as your territory anyway, Maps are the best alternatives. In fact, as far as I know, a single Map won't be big enough to capture the entire World, where if you really want to explore the whole thing you'll need more than 5 Maps I think, so there's my reason for using the word "ginormous".

After testing them, I find them useful in giving me a better sense of direction, especially for finding/re-finding minerals, caves, etc.. In SMP, the Map sharing part was the best, i.e. you can share your Map of your Nether while your friend shares with you what he has explored so far while you were away.

  11. We're still sticking to Vice City because its '80s graphics or look that fit BTTF's theme, and it's more compatible with on low-ends. The team decided to also make a full version for San Andreas, anyway.

I honestly think the shading system in san andreas is ugly, so I'm happy.

SA's shading system works just fine. SA's graphics are made to fit with SA's original theme. If the team would want the graphics to fit BTTF's '80s / Sci-Fi themes, it will take a lot of graphical effort.

  12. Woop! Its no longer block, if you have this problem go here

I tried a cracked launcher before in my PC to see how it's different from the original. It was made by some "AnjoCaido" guy, and I say he's pretty smart. He was able to design a launcher that doesn't require blocking the site and can download the game's files from the Net though as if I'm logged-in. In fact, also, if you try putting in an existing legit account (the login screen only asks for the account name, without the password) you'll get that guy's skin, among other things. A friend, whom I got the launcher from, tried logging in as "Notch" and got Notch's skin and even the ability to drop an Apple upon death. Still playing it safe, though, and sticked with the original launcher and my uncle's account (which I only use for downloading the files anyway, I rarely play multiplayer).

Valve has just released a T-Shirt that mocks the "3 Creeper Moon" T-shirt in the minecraft merch section.

Oh wow. I'm not even sure if that "mockery" was mockery enough to offend Valve. But I say that's a lamer mockery they (Valve) made there.

  13. Even if Mr. one of the most infamous terrorists of human history is truly finally dead, I don't think it's over yet. As far as I've seen it, people tend to blame people for what they have done, not the reason(s) that made them do it. And that's one of the reasons I think why there are still terrorists and criminals around. As long as it is possible for any one of us to have those kinds of reasons, there's ought to be another possible Osama bin Laden in the future.

Like that wise random hobo in the street said, "true justice can only be served when people finally learn how to blame the root of evil more than the evil itself."
