  1. Organs that can be removed without major repercussions are considered non-vital organs, but that doesn't mean they are also considered vestigial organs. They still have important roles in the body.

Our liver serves as the one that makes bile, while the gallbladder serves as a storage and the "distributor" of it, therefore the gallbladder still serves an important purpose.

  2. All of those who argue that we're going off-topic, I'm again mentioning Rules 25 and 26 of the Internet. :P True that beliefs are beliefs...which is exactly the reason why we're having these arguments in the first place.

there is NO WAY that ancient humans had the technology or the know how to figure it out.

How can you really tell? A god is a god. If you think about it, God would be the one who will let us know that he/she/it exists, not us humans, either in a direct way or an indirect way (the latter leading to Nostradamus-like descriptions that many of us today may describe as being ridiculous because of how they described it, like how a 16th century clairvoyant would describe a masked pilot flying a World War battle plane as a "flying pig with solid wings"). This is the universe, after all, so the possibilities are endless. :P

Actually, they just discovered the use of the appendix. I believe the use had something to do with the immune system.

Even the ancient appendix had the same function, only that the modern appendix's role is no longer as important as the ancient one's. The appendix just aids the immune system. It doesn't have any very important role in our body that removing it, which is the case of those who have appendicitis, would make us weak. We'll still be able to live normally with a well-functioning immune system without it.

First I would go to 07/15/2001 and teach the younger me how to talk to girls.

lmao, never thought of that  (the teaching my younger me part, not the girls part; knowing that I started having a huge interest in time travel since 13, I don't see why I can't teach my younger self)

This also somehow reminds me of the 2nd latest episode of Heroes, where Future Hiro convinced the Past Hiro to do exactly what he did or what the Past Hiro is suppose to do, while at the same time saving Charlie, something Future Hiro failed to do.

  3. Games I bought for my laptop:

    :D

I'm lucky to find a store that still sell old/outdated stuff lol.

Not sure if I'm gonna buy the PC version of Force Unleashed, a game port I've been waiting for since. The porting is a rush job. 24 GB HDD space? You've got to be f*cking kidding me. I just hope the European/Australian version will be more "fixed" than the North American one.

  4. It's called human vestigiality, and I've already explained that a while ago in my 2nd previous post. See the spoiler.

I know you're not serious when you said that, but I just wanna say this:

    SPOILER:
Evolution is not always about getting something new. It can also be about losing something we no longer need because we adapted so much that we don't need these features anymore.

You'd be wondering why we have what we call human vestigials. These are organs that we don't need, and that we can live our lives normally without, yet we still have them. These include the appendix, which used to be as important as our the modern human stomach and intestines, our wisdom teeth, goosebumps (which is used to make our ancestor's body hair, which used to be hell longer than ours, stand up and make them look larger to scare off predators), a small fold of tissue in our eye called plica semilunaris which is a remnant of what is known as the "third eyelid" (which pretty much tells that our ancestors used to have 3 eyelids), and a tailbone (which is so unneeded that not only we don't have a tail to begin with but also it gives nothing to us but pain if we try to sit in a wrong position).

According to evolution, they're simply leftovers in the whole evolutionary process, leftovers that are yet to be completely get rid of as we evolve (which we still do apparently).

So, I ask those like John DeLorean who argue that everything has a reason why they're there or why they happened, and they didn't happen "by chance", and that God is behind all of it, why the f*ck did God give us these completely unneeded parts in our body in the first place?

  5. Nope, it ain't: Evolution = changing from a creature into a totally diffrent creature. Adapting = Changing to fit in your living area.

    False...

Evolution - is change in the genetic material of a population of organisms from one generation to the next

    True...

To make DK's description of evolution more complete:

"Though changes produced in any one generation are normally small, differences accumulate with each generation and can, over time, cause substantial changes in the population, a process that can result in the emergence of new species."

So evolution isn't entirely about becoming an entirely different species -- that would be called speciation, which just ONE part of evolution. It's a long and slow process living beings undergo.

Whenever I research stuff that many consider as theories like evolution and the Big Bang, the pages that come up doesn't include the word "theory" in the name anymore. Either the whole theory is proven, or, like what happened to some already-proven theories, it "broke down" to many theories related to the subject due to some or most of the theory being already proven, while the others are still left for debate.

  6. If you ask me, if we "evolved" we sure downgraded <_<

I know you're not serious when you said that, but I just wanna say this:

    SPOILER:

    Do you understand Creationism?

You do know that's a satire, right? Like EWJ said, Edward is an atheist who make fun of theists with his satirical videos. The video you showed wasn't there to show atheists' stupidity, but was there to show (and make fun of) creationists/theists' stupidity.

I don't believe in the evolution theory, but what I do believe is that living creatures could adapt themself to the nature they're living in.

Yes, they can adapt, in their original habitat, that is, but what if they're forced to live in another place that's mostly or completely different to their own? The world back then wasn't as safe and as comfortable to live in as it is right now -- super volcanoes that can suffocate us to death when they erupt, hurricanes thrice or more powerful than Hurricane Katrina, extremely hot summers or extremely cold winters, Ice Ages, towering predators, etc.. So tell me, if we are incapable of "evolving" to better species, then how did we and other species we know today were able to survive from these conditions and remain existing until now?

We're just this lucky (but, still, not lucky enough) to be able to live like this.

  7. I remember that one, too. Liked it a bit because of the whole Sonic-Mario-DBZ crossover.

and assuming he gets this star rod straight away means goku gets the dragonballs straight away, and every other ability or object he ever gets during dbz, db and gt.

Wishing with a magic wand is hell faster to do than summoning a wishing dragon to wish. Also, Mario's wish would be very general, like "make the Dragon Balls disappear". That would mean any or all Dragon Balls. Mario doesn't need to know all of them to make this wish.

  8. If you want LOTS of blood and gore, GTA-like violence, and GTA-like fun out of this violence, go with Postal 2. If you want just blood and gore, any other decent current-generation FPS games out there would do.

Also looking for a good sword figting game with LOTS of decapitation

I doubt there is one, unless you use cheats, like in SW: JK II -- Jedi Academy (which isn't a sword fighting game, but has some sword fighting in it) where you can enter the code "g_saberrealisticcombat 1" (add more value to 1 to increase its effect, 100 being the maximum) to not only activate gore but also make lightsabers so realistic that just slicing it through your enemy by moving your mouse would decapitate him. (don't forget to use god mode when you use this, because the realistic saber cheat also applies to you)

  9. JOHN007: lol that what happens if someone make religious references in an atheist/agnostic-dominated internet.

See Rule 25 and 26 of the Internet. :P

    http://images.encyclopediadramatica.com/im...94679739296.jpg

The day that I see the God, I will be able to say, "Why didn't you believe me?" And you'll be like, "Satan corrupted my mind!"

Satan hasn't corrupted any minds here for the fact that EWJ is a non-believer. See "spoiler" below to know my point...

    SPOILER:
There are two types of sins -- venial sin and mortal sin. The latter is serious so committing one sends you to hell, while the first, how many times you commit it, won't make it a serious sends-you-to-hell thing for you, so right now you're probably thinking EWJ is committing a lot of mortal sins with his atheist comments and posts. Well, think again.

There are 3 things that should be met if a sin that's committed is to be considered a mortal sin:

    1. Its subject must be a grave (or serious) matter.

    2. It must be committed with full knowledge, both of the sin and of the gravity of the offense.

    3. It must be committed with deliberate and complete consent, enough for it to have been a personal decision to commit the sin.

The thing about atheists committing sins is that they ALWAYS don't meet the second for the fact that they don't (completely) believe what they've just did is a "sin", thus making all of their sins venial, which also means no atheist or non-Christian can go to hell. So as a Christian you have to fear more than a non-Christian when committing sins. :P

  10. john delorean you are ignorant and your unwillingness to understand evolution only shows you are afraid of being proven wrong (or at least being proven not right, if you get my logic)

I sort of agree to that. I've been to that road before myself, but I later realized that if I were to learn the truth I have to open my eyes and mind to BOTH belief systems.

Saying evolution is a lie is like your neighbor trying to say to you at a phone call that your house is on fire but you, who is at your office somewhere away from your home , don't believe him because it might be some trick he's making. The main reason of your doubt is because of the differences between you and your neighbor, but you never bothered at all to try to know yourself if he's telling the truth or not and instead you just jump to the conclusion that he's completely lying.

There are already too many evidences supporting evolution. If you try and argue, too, that those evidence are faked "to make people live in lies", then, in my example's case, it will like you've seen the fire yourself at the news at TV, and your co-workers start to bother you around with what's happening, yet you hesitate to believe because of the same f*cking reason.

God gave you eyes, ears, and a brain. Use them.

  11. Sorry to burst your bubble, but that would be a terrible idea. The turrets should remain only in the Portal series. Like I've said, making more unnecessary crossovers like adding the turrets from Portal would screw up the game. The only HL2-Portal crossovers (when I said crossover, I meant game-wise) I would want to see in EP3 are the Borealis and the A.S. portal technology. Everything else from Portal would be considered unnecessary.

If you wanna see the turrets again, wait for Portal 2. ;) Which brings up another in-HL universe discussion, if you guys want it.

  12. It has some guns, turrets and an airplane crane on board. Is it a flight carrier ? Damn that ship is well gunned! It looks more like a Battle ship to me :P

Aperture Science is more than just teleportation technology. Energy orbs that can power up advanced technology or vaporize objects and people, neurotoxins, turrets that can think, aim and shoot by their own, advanced AI, portable portal technology that works like a gun -- you can pretty much tell these guys, like Black Mesa, work for the military and Sector 7-like divisions of the government or something like that.

Well that's weird. Why would 2 employees of black mesa pose infront of the Borealis?

They're there to emphasize the rivalry between the two companies. Notice that those scientists look as though they were just pasted there?

I agree with about iMaster saying it's all just a "game of chess" for G-Man. He might be playing for the sake of defeating a dangerous foe, thus he needs to, or he just wants to play.

  13. The link EMO posted is anything but religious. Well, at least, I think it isn't.

    65. ARGUMENT FROM HIDDEN LOGIC (II)

    (1) Atheists say that God doesn't exist.

    (2) But they only say that because they want to look cool and intellectual in front of their peers.

    (3) They don't fool me!

    (4) Therefore, God exists.

    lmao

  14. As a matter of fact, all of us can already be "time travelers" without a time machine to do it. By just moving around, we would have this natural ability of being able to slow down time. Go faster, and you'll slow down time further. You don't recognize it, but it does happen.

For example, a 25-year old astronaut left his twin on Earth for a 99.9%-speed-of-light rocket ride to the star Rigel, which 775 light-years away from Earth. He traveled there and back to Earth for a total of 25 and a half years, thus reaching the age of 50 and a half by the time he gets back home, only to find that, for people on Earth, 1800 years have already passed, and his twin, who's suppose to be as old as him, was already long dead. It is not because he got himself sucked by a black hole to be sent years to the future during his trip, but because the speed of the rocket ride allowed him to age slower than his twin.

  15. Nice comic, DK. God just committed a deadly sin by doing that, though, but still it's good. :D

The thing about atheists is that, regardless of how many times they say they are more open-minded, they are still close-minded in some ways. They're not really 100% open-minded, if you think about it. For instance, they would say there is no such thing as God because there are no evidences that God exist, but were there also evidences that God doesn't exist?

  16. I feel sorry that you want to defend your lie. You're being liberals; you want to believe in lies! I just want for ALL of you to go to heaven, with me. Dragon King (and Queen, hopefully) are Christian, by what I've read. I hope to see them, and their children in the heaven, along with you! I will NEVER give into the liberals/atheists/evolutionists; I am a son of God, literally speaking.

    Like I've said...

Say all you want about being a Christian or having faith, even in the smartest or most prophetic way you can, but those won't in any way make atheists shut their mouths 'till you stop making such a dumb assumption (no offense).

There's already too many evidences and proof to defend the idea of evolution. Saying evolution is a lie is being ignorant, like EWJ said, or being blind.

Seriously, based from my experience as a Catholic Christian myself, saying evolution is a lie ISN'T being faithful to God. I myself have always believed that everything depicted in the Book of Genesis about creation -- for instance, the sands turning to Adam, I believe, represents evolution itself, from simple thing it turned to a living complex being -- are symbolical or metaphorical, for the fact that the writer(s) of the book never referred from any form of supernatural or divine source when he/they wrote the book. I even believed that God caused the Big Bang, which started the creation and expansion of the universe. He said "Let there be light", and there was a HUGE f*cking light alright lol. I've used to be the one who likes to combine religion and faith with science and logic in many ways possible. :D

Also, your reply to my previous post shows your insufficient understanding or knowledge about science's explanation with these stuff (no offense). With what you said by "Was this by chance? I doubt it", I have to agree to that, but I would also agree on God never had any direct influence or control over what caused them in the first place. Note that science, ever since, is always mostly about sequences, chemical/chain reactions, etc.. Saying something happened "by chance", I believe, is like saying it happened because no God NOR physics or some universal law caused it. It...just happened.

  17. I think you may not change the time continuum. It would cause literally a paradox!

    On a Major Way!

Haven't I already said our universe ISN'T the BTTF universe or the Doctor Who universe? Logically, "time travel" and "temporal paradox" are opposites -- if we prove one to be true, then the other would be completely untrue. So if scientists proved that there are paradoxes, then they could also be 100% certain that time travel is a complete myth and could never happen (which would be a nightmare for us BTTF fans if that ever happens).

...so if there is such thing as time travel, it would disprove your claim about God not allowing us to time travel.

  18. @Luikseer: Haven't I already said our universe ISN'T the BTTF universe or the Doctor Who universe? Logically, "time travel" and "temporal paradox" are opposites -- if we prove one to be true, then the other would be completely untrue. So if scientists proved that there are paradoxes, then they could also be 100% certain that time travel is a complete myth and could never happen (which would be a nightmare for us BTTF fans if that ever happens).

Still, the Butterfly Effect is a good part of chaos theory we can take note, though. Even if we haven't 100% proven time travel yet, we can be certain the B. Effect happens all around us. It is a FACT that in times of our lives one very small and minor mistake we commit would lead to a complete disaster, which is a perfect example of the B. Effect. If we 100% proven time travel along with our own "time machine", we won't encounter any temporal paradoxes, but we will still encounter the B. Effect (the ultimate form of it, that is).

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

@John DeLorean: I praise you for your faith, but you are, however, a bit out of line about saying evolution is a lie. This is simply one of the many reasons why atheists say theists are close-minded. Say all you want about being a Christian or having faith, even in the smartest or most prophetic way you can, but those won't in any way make atheists shut their mouths 'till you stop making such a dumb assumption (no offense).

If you're really going back in time and stop Darwin, I'll have to go back in time, too, and stop you. Also, (*makes reference from the 4th episode "Acceptance" of the 4th season of Heroes, and the Butterfly Effect*) who says Charles Darwin is the only scientist in history capable of starting the "Theory of Evolution"? :P

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

@EWJ: Not all Christians are 100% creationists. Christians here in the PH, for instance, take evolution seriously that every single Catholic school teaches it as a part of a major subject (biology). The priests even make references from evolution during the homily sometimes. They do so to explain the lesson(s) of the read verse(s) from the Bible further, instead of trying to use the verses themselves to disprove evolution. For an atheist like you, I believe, it would be a surprise to see and hear a priest do this.

I agree with everything DK and RG said.

  19. Upgrade interior? That sounds...promising. :D

Do you think it is possible to make a decent interior camera view in the SA mod? We attempted to code in the SCM, but looks like crap compared to the VC Camera Hack one. We tried it via SA Camera Hack, hoping it would give us an idea how it should look, but looks just as f*cked up as the SCM-coded VC one.

  20. It could also be possible that G-Man is responsible for the Borealis incident, too.

Funny (and interesting) that Eli, who is against the whole idea of using Aperture Science's portal technology, was warned by G-Man with the words "prepare for unforeseen consequences" then later died in the end of EP2. Do you guys think this is all somehow linked to G-Man? If they are, then it might be another part of G-Man's plot or "game", that he wanted the Resistance to find the technology for their own advantage.

  21. That's the point. It's an FPS. They'll need to code it a bit further to make it more "BTTF material". But, by the looks of it, they won't be making it a major mod like our GTA VC mod. There's a Hill Valley map, but it could be just a simple map add-on/mod.

icing bought me, actually. Also the interior, since you it is an FPS.

This reminds me of Blue saying we'll be having ice models for the GTA:SA DeLorean once he finds a modeler for the job. Can't wait for that. :D

As for the interior, it is possible to make the same type of interior in the GTA:SA mod thanks to the whole attach-to-car code, that is if Blue finds a way to make a decent interior camera view.

  22. No for both, that's for sure. But, like the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, there was a portal technology in there.

The Borealis is another plot driver we can take note. Remember in EP2, when Dr. Kleiner and Eli decoded stuff about the Borealis, a rift opened between the two scientists. The two later argued whether to use the technology or get rid of it, knowing it would be a useful tool for the Resistance against the Combine, and at the same time a threat as it would possibly start another Seven Hour War or another "Black Mesa incident".

This somehow supports the whole Combine-not-being-able-to-teleport-within-a-universe thing.

The Borealis is planned to make an appearance in EP3. Hopefully, it will. Here's a concept art of the Borealis with the Advisors from EP3:

    Borealis_Advisors.jpg

I like the whole HL2-Portal crossover, but I hope they don't "cross them over" too much, like having the Portal Gun or GLaDOS or GLaDOS-like AI or Chell in EP3.

  23. Also, has anyone noticed that the Combine are only capable of trans-dimensional teleportations? None of their technology so far demonstrated the kind of teleportation the Black Mesa and Aperture Science guys were able to achieve.

It might be true that G-Man doesn't want the Combine to find the technology and use it themselves for the quest for universal domination. I do remember reading such a thing somewhere in the net, just can't remember where it really is.
