  1. The only "rig" I've got at the moment is my HP G60-235DX laptop. And obviously it'd be a BAD idea to open it up just to take pictures of it lol

Note: The guy in the right side of the picture is not me. It's a dude from CNET. I'll take pictures of my own laptop once I find a decent computer table :P

  2. This is how it would look like:

    windows7black.png

Note: The windows are just as black as the start menu when active.

If you want the Grim Reaper look on Aero, I suggest using WindowBlinds 7. The thing can allow you to add texture effects to Windows 7's Aero, like this one:

Speaking of which, can anyone here be kind enough to lend me a free (legit) copy of WindowBlinds 7, because the thing will expire in 30 days? :P

  3. lol no one here seems to be taking this topic seriously. Probably because they don't know what the NES is capable of.

I can't think of anything for your NES games because of the reason mentioned above, and because the link you provided is broken (apart from the missing B in the link, the username you provided appears to be invalid). Your vids, if only your link ain't broken, would give me an idea what I should suggest.

  4. Uh, lemme correct that: "For best results, I'll need the Home Edition Aero."

Home Edition doesn't have the features the other versions of Aero has. Having the least-featured transparent Aero is best for achieving the transparency at Home Basic.

  5. lol forgot to include that I'll need only the 32-bit version.

And this topic is how to make it transparent. I'm thinking of taking the transparent version of Windows Aero, and knowing what part of the theme should I change to make it transparent. OR, if possible, use the theme itself on Home Basic.

So I'll be needing the entire folder of the theme (found in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes). For best results, I'll need the Ultimate Home Edition Aero.

Now I'm thinking I should do this for all PC users who wants both the cheapest less-feature-full edition of Windows 7 and the transparent Aero. I'll be making a web page once I find out a way.

Slightly off-topic: For those who wants Vista/Win7 Aero transparency on Mozilla Firefox, search for Ambroos' All Glass Firefox Mod. It works as an FF extension, so you don't have to replace or back-up any file and you can simply disable or uninstall it via the Extensions window. Been using it since, and probably one of the two reasons (the other being VistaGlazz) why I got used to transparent windows lol.

  6. Who does here use Windows 7 Home Premium / Professional / Ultimate Edition 32-bit?

A friend of mine bought a Win 7 Home Basic, like me, but unfortunately unlike in my case he doesn't like the non-transparent Windows Aero, so he tried using WindowBlinds to change themes, only to have used the same license key as I do, reducing both copies to 30-day trial versions lol.

I tried every single trick in the book (registry-editing, hex-editing, etc.) and what I've only got so far is a blue non-transparent Aero, which he doesn't like either (in my case, I kept it, since blue is my favorite after all :D)

No comments like "you should've bought Home Premium instead" or "you just wasted your money on sh*t" or the like. I like the non-transparent Aero (and its lacking of the features the other more superior editions have). I'm doing this for him as a favor.

(About what I've said about Home Basic having Aero glass, I take that back; the people at YouTube who claimed they have Win 7 Home Basic with transparent Aero and showed in their vids weren't really using Home Basic)

  7. is jumper more realistic? You'd have to do some calculations to back that up. Like find the volume of air being displaced and find out how much force is being applied.

When I said realistic, I meant how a wormhole would push away stuff (in the movie). I researched something at the net about teleporting in occupied space just after watching Jumper. I myself thought at first that the whole pushing stuff away thing was too unrealistic, until I saw that site. I can't remember the link, though, unfortunately.

Since technically a wormhole has no mass and also has a vacuum within it (like space) so instead of things being pushed out, wouldn't they be sucked in?

Uh, no. If the exit point of the wormhole can suck stuff in, wouldn't the teleporter itself/himself/herself be trapped in the wormhole since he/she/it will be just sucked back in?

his wheels would materialize partway inside the rails themselves, merging the two objects.

That being impossible has something to do with the fact that two objects cannot occupy the same space. It's like two people trying to sit on the same seat.

Despite as much as I like to discuss this teleportation thing, I'm not much into it. If only I'm not having a (slight) fever right now, I would've mentioned more detail/explanations.

  8. it did not, but its pure iron and I doubt it'll be that prone to damage. I mean, Marty and Jennifer were pratically unscathed after the huge train came back.

So you're saying the tracks are tough enough to keep an exit point of a wormhole from opening? I am again saying I'm referring to the more realistic (and violent) teleportation in Jumper, in BTTF's. Wormholes can practically push away or damage anything that's within space-time and in wherever it opens.

  9. Any fanboyism would be considered a religion in this forum.

And if you guys were also referring to the religion war thing that occurred earlier in an off-topic thread, it technically ain't us atheists/agnostics who started it. It didn't even start as a religion war until John DeLorean started making Christian references when he was backing up his statement that evolution is a lie.

  10. We were referring to the teleportation from Jumper, where stuff, weaker or stronger than the teleporter, are being pushed back or away to give way to the teleporter. If the DeLorean time machine was real and fully-working, it may not re-enter after time travel the same way as in the movies. It would be a time-shifting Jumper on wheels. If you've watched the movie, you'd get what we're talking about.

  11. I'd prefer a time machine that doesn't rely on speed to time travel, like the DeLorean. The Jumper movie showed that objects that are present in a certain location would be pushed away if you teleport to that location. The same would happen if we were to have a working time machine, but just imagine re-entering in a small store at 88 mph. You'll risk destroying property, damaging your time machine, injuring yourself, and seriously injuring or killing someone.

  12. Yeah. The whole thing sounds like Heroes, only with a bit of paranormal stuff. Psychic power, according to what I've conceptualized, is a "genetic human vestigial" passed down since our (highly-psychical) ancestors who managed to tap to offworld-ly "spectral energy" through evolution and used to consider it their own "arms and legs" (therefore its the other way around unlike in Heroes). This would help explain why psychic power is rare and is near to being considered as "fantasy bullsh*t" nowadays.

Horokinesis has more differences than similarities to Hiro's ability. Since it's entirely dimension-manipulation, any Horokinetic can do BEYOND that of any Hiro Nakamura. Master Horokinetics can do so much to the point that they can create their own alternate or pocket universes by creating "copies" of our original universe's dimensions and "assembling" them to separate universes, or "destroy" a universe by causing it to collapsing onto itself. Same pretty much goes to other psychic powers I researched and conceptualized.

  13. What Statler said.

True that HG Wells didn't know all of that, but we should thank him for allowing us to know these for the first place by introducing us technology-based time travel, otherwise ALL of us wouldn't.

Speaking of which, this reminds me of the HL2 mod I was working on. I once researched about "Chronokinesis" (a type of telekinesis/psychokinesis which involve telekinetically manipulating time and probably space), then decided to have a psychic power capable of bending dimensions like space and time. I named the psychic power "Horokinesis". If I were to finish and release this mod, this power would be one of my many attempts to try to combine science (fiction) with fantasy / paranormal.

  14. It's probably still a beta. The whole thing might just be a test feature, or an "Nth Dimension" feature lol

There are some other time travel-based fics used the same fast-forward time travel concept BEFORE Click. Can't remember which ones were those, but I can be pretty sure this is also considered time traveling.

Anyways, I really don't like the idea of fast-forwarding. I would allowing one of my three time machine ideas to have this feature, but I won't use it just as much as the other features. I would use it for stuff like answering my curiosity about my (possible) future some years later.

  15. If you've surfed around the forums a bit more, you'd know Mac users can run Windows programs, including this mod, or Windows itself via a Mac visualization software named Parallels Desktop. It works just like PearPC (its Windows counterpart), only less buggy and more convenient to use.

    Parallels_Desktop_5.jpg

iMaster, one of the very few Mac users here, uses Parallels Desktop to play both the VC and SA versions of the mod, and the two games themselves obviously.

  16. not true they couldnt afford rockstar

You missed the other posts like "EA is a wealthy company and could easily own Take Two and most likely will have some type of involvement with them b4 the year is up."

Even if EA managed to buy Rockstar, Rockstar would still be the one making their games. Buying a company doesn't also mean "erasing it from existence". The only concern we might have is that EA might do the "Disney treatment" to Rockstar's games.
