  1. dude.. have you looked at my sig? how can you think i take them seriously? and its 3 guys who play the music. i like Dethklok because the musics catchy and the show is a BRILLIANT p***take of what it would be like if a death metal band reached that kind of level of fame.

there is no way that i take them as a serious band.

my point about the joker was he wasnt supposed to be just a clown who blows stuff up and laughs about it. hes actually supposed to be evil. jack wasnt evil in the slightest, sure he had some slightly chilling lines but he wasnt beleivably evil. heath ledger was both a clown and evil.

man it used to be fun arguing with you but now its like talking to a p***y little kid who doesnt want to beleive that he has to grow up someday (just to clarify in a way that you actually understand that last remark, im not saying you are in fact a little kid im saying your behaving like one, and yes im fully aware that your older than me, and the grow up remark was in relation to the fact that you cant bear to see old characters change especially if its for the better)

And yeah, he is supposed to be a clown. Someone hasn't been doing their homework :D You're exactly right, he is supposed to be evil. AND he's supposed to be a clown, taking after the stereotypical carnival mask of a clown. That's how the Joker was written. I know what I am talking about, Jim. Chris Nolan didn't write the Joker, Bob Kane did. And Frank Miller didn't either, so don't try and throw that on me. When Kane first wrote the character, he is EXACTLY how he is portrayed in Bat '89. A '30s type of mobster, known for his acid flower, the hand buzzer, the Joker copter, the laughing gas, the "bang" gun, etc. Notice how I didn't list knives ;)

  2. the official origin of the joker is that there is no official origin. the reason that i prefer heaths is that not only did he do a more convincing job in terms of line delivery and body language etc but his character was actually BELEIVABLY evil while nicholsons was kinda just a clown..

i can see why you prefer i though dooms. i mean up untill recently you took the 60s sereis of batman seriously so how can we expect you to fully grasp the concept of what the joker is meant to be.

The Joker is SUPPOSED to be a clown, Jim. You may like Heath better, but Jack's interpetation of the character is WAY more loyal to the comics than Heath's was.

And you're trying to pick fun on me for taking the 60's series seriously? Woah, check you out. You're on a role. You take a fictional band that doesn't exist seriously. Not to mention, they're cartoon. Wait, did you know that its only one guy who does all the instruments? :D:D

  3. Since the old topic is older than 5 days ( <_< ) I started this again.

Without a doubt, Jack. Was Heath really playing the CLOWN PRINCE OF CRIME? No. He wasn't, not at all. He was playing a terrorist who wore clown makeup. Already right there, that's a screwup on this incarnation of the character. They also f'ed up his origin. He didn't get his permenant smile from scars, he fell into a vat of chemicals and his skin was bleached white, hair dyed green, and of course the red smile. Batman '89 nailed the Joker origin. Jack's Joker was like a direct comicbook cutout of the Joker from the comics. Heath barely is recognizable as a Joker. The Joker didn't carry around knives, he carried novelty weapons.... the Joker copter, the Joker gas, the hand buzzer, the "bang" gun, etc.

  4. I'm a fan of the original WWF, with Andre the Giant and others. But I'm not a fan of the ones of these days.

You should really check out the video of Terry Hogan (Hulk Hogan) against Andre the Giant, it's awesome.

Oh yea, and I missed you guys too. Group Hug!

U have failed for quoting a picture

I like the original WWF, a little before my time though. My favorites from back in the day were Warlord, Hogan, Piper, Flair, the Warrior, Macho Man, etc. I agree with you about wrestling now 'a days though. Its lately becomming such a joke, now with this "TV-PG" rating. They are becoming so kid oriented and so kid friendly, its getting so pathetic with how far they're going with this "TV-PG" rating.

And yeah, I've seen Hogan vs Andre so many times before. If you like the original WWF so much Joe, I recommend the Wrestlemania "Complete Anthology" Vol. 1 DVD set. It covers the first five Wrestlemanias (1985-1989). With that, you have Wrestlemania III.... the home of the infamous Hogan/Andre match. :):)

  5. For me-

    The Lost World: Jurassic Park

    Jurassic Park

    Jurassic Park III

I know I am going to get some flack now, but yeah the Lost World is my favorite of the three. Not a lot of people who say Lost World is their favorite, so I know I'm in the minority on this.

  6. Mine is Led Zeppelin (BY FAR :):) ) They aren't my favorite band, but my all-time favorite live act. I always enjoy listening to a live recording of a 70s show by them (mostly 1973 shows.) I am always looking for a good sounding 1973 show, that's my favorite live period of them. That's why I love the Song Remains the Same DVD/CD so much. The original three recordings of the New York '73 shows are okayish. I've heard WAY better, but on the Song Remains the Same recording, they have almost turned it into a completely different concert. The three nights spliced together, and a tad polished, is ten times better than the three nights seperately. Two other favorites of mine are New York 1975, and Knebworth 1979. I used to own the original store-bought record LP of New York 1975 when I was around 4 or 5, and that used to be my favorite record when I was a kid. I would always listen to it, it was probably scratched to death though :D:D After that, I must have lost it and never saw it again. HOWEVER....... I did find an MP3 version a few years ago off of some bootleg site, fully remastered and restored :):) It sounded better than ever, better than I have remembered it sounding. And it was also a real treat to find an EVEN BETTER version called "The Flying Circus" And I used to own a VHS copy of Knebworth 1979 when I was real little. It always was one of my favorite live shows/concerts. But again, I lost that TOO. So, I found a 100/10 sounding verison of the show, the best sounding copy I've ever heard. So that, New York 1975, and the Song Remains the Same 1973 New York compilation show are my favorite live Zeppelin documents.
