Back To The Future: San Andreas: Larger 1885 Map Mod

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

This is a WIP created entirely by me, so there are no permissions issues. Great for making movies.

Look! Where we're going we don't have roads.

http://youtu.be/RNHSRVWyLdQ

UPDATE: I didn't want this topic to be inactive for too long, so I am posting progress updates with MEd screenshots. Notice that the roads exist in these screenshots because no texture modifications are made:
UPDATE 1:

This takes care of the bridges. Since I turned all metal, road, and concrete textures to sand, the bridges look funny. This only covers the bridges, it doesn't remove them.

MEd2013-11-1814-20-31-33_zps90a4a338.png
In this second picture, another bridge has been covered. Also, rock barriers block access to a post-1950's town, or at least make it extremely difficult to access.

MEd2013-11-1814-21-06-54_zps1fdaec53.png

More rock barriers and a clear shot of the runway.

MEd2013-11-1814-23-29-40_zpsb7f767f7.png

As you can partially see from this picture, this rock barrier blocks the road to a motel and a bridge.

MEd2013-11-1814-31-48-36_zpseca52a05.png
These rock barriers block access to a road out of town. This still needs some work.

MEd2013-11-1814-24-59-58_zps102f931d.png

So that's it! Update 1.

UPDATE 2:

Wow, it's been a long time.
Here are some updates to the map:
This area is now completely surrounded by large rock barriers.
MEd2014-05-0912-00-33-00_zpsed0e67a4.png
This area contained the Big Pecker, which was not a map object, so it had to be covered higher.
MEd2014-05-0912-02-19-50_zpse5f47132.png
Added Doc's barn to the map. Due to rough terrain, the floor of the barn had to be sunk into the ground.
MEd2014-05-0912-04-24-38_zps8fcf004e.png
So that's Update 2.

UPDATE 3: 1885 Map Mod is nearing completion. :headphonedance:

These are in game shots. ;)
I edited the col files to make all roads in countn2.ipl sand (or desert dirt, whatever you call it). :P Thanks again, Trance!
gta_sa2014-05-1915-11-22-05_zpse2d1d7b6.
I added a sign, moved around, and added buildings for 1885 Hill Valley. The sign texture was scratch made by me (while looking at the BTTF movie).
gta_sa2014-05-1915-12-23-35_zpsc2ef8fae.
gta_sa2014-05-1915-12-51-86_zps8849d1f8.
I blocked off this road, leading to a dam.
gta_sa2014-05-1915-14-02-71_zpsc2a32410.
These rocks cover a parking lot near the desert geyser.
gta_sa2014-05-1915-14-50-77_zpsf994cd67.
This once was the road leading out of Area 51, now turned to dirt.
gta_sa2014-05-1915-18-23-75_zpscecd3a55.
So what do you think?

UPDATE 4: Added McFly Farm House
MEd2014-05-2315-44-03-19_zps20d7ff48.png
FULL RELEASE: Yay! :jump:

Thanks to LoadGamePL for help with MapEditor. Also, big thanks to Delorean88MP and TranceLikeState!
See you in San Andreas, or in MapEditor, or 1885... :P

Sure, you can PM it to me. Thanks. :)

Although I don't know where to put it. 1885 Hill Valley in SA is the Castillo Del Diablo.

The bridges in countn2.ipl come in 2 pieces. The main piece, which is built into the rock structure and can't be sunk, and the support beams, which are sinkable. I just sink the support beams and cover the main piece. Oh, and I responded to your PM. ;)

EDIT: Youtube is having problems as of 11/18/2013 5:49 PM EST:

Oh alright. about that error I haven't seen that one on youtube before but I did see a funny one and made a video of it probably 2years ago.

A team of highly trained monkeys has been dispatched to deal with this situation.

They mean a team of barely trained Google employs has been dispatched to deal with this situation :shifty:

I really like that you're using original map objects but what I don't like is that not even a hand full of parts are used pretty much everywhere, which makes it look like a super mario map on the game boy. q:

That's right. There are only so many decent rock structures that can be used as barriers when sunk into the ground. Actually, I have tried many, but only 2 actually fit the bill. The rest are either too flat, have a large empty hole in them, or both. I chose to use barriers rather than sinking multiple towns into the ground, which would leave more holes. ;)
