MK3424 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 In the game you have a modelled Flux capacitor in the car and on the train, but is it possible to make it flux when you turn the time circuits on and flash during time travel
Carlos85G 22 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 We could make the effects, but the engine's capabilities for rendering transparencies leave a lot to wish for; so, the effects won't show through glass and you'd only see them when you open the door and look inside. Same problem with the Status Indicator Display and the plasma and wormhole when looking out from the inside. The one in the train already flashes. One glow is enough to make the effect. MK3424 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 i mean you can see it fluxing inside the car when you are looking behind and on the train on the front
Carlos85G 22 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 We're going for consistency here. If you can't see the effects from the outside with the car's doors closed and the windshield intact, then there's no point in adding them. The train already has that effect. Different from the DeLorean, the Train's flux capacitor doesn't glow brighter when commencing temporal displacement.
MK3424 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 sorry, i didn't notice but inside the car would be possible ?
Carlos85G 22 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 As I said in my first post, it would be possible to add them, but you won't see them because of the glass in the flux capacitor (if you're looking from inside) and the windows/windshield (looking from outside); so, what's the point? MK3424 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 that the players could see the flux capacitor in action as it is in real life
Carlos85G 22 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 It's not a point if it doesn't have consistency. Transparency issues mean no flux capacitor glow effects for any of the DeLoreans and that's final
CJ O'Hummer 10 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 you won't see them because of the glass in the flux capacitor (if you're looking from inside) and the windows/windshield (looking from outside) well, Carlos, how do you explain this:
RG 1 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 Shot out window? (assumption without watching the video)
Carlos85G 22 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 Adobe Premiere and Adobe AfterEffects are your friends when editing videos for special effects. If we could do those, you'd have them since 0.2D.
CJ O'Hummer 10 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 ok, so those effects were made AFTER the video was shot?!?
Carlos85G 22 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 Indeed.
Mike 214 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 It's a no can do for VC. SA of course, is another matter
Dragon King 15 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 Honestly it doesn't look like Adobe cause it doesn't glow but merely turns blue and the SID changes too. more like a texture change.... odd
Mike 214 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 photoshopped still image?
Carlos85G 22 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 Most likely. The camera stays still all the time. Just add some colors and then a black semi-transparent layer so it blends with the background.
Mini-Me 24 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 [irony]How about making the flux capacitor carcol-compatible and mimic the animation that way?[/irony]
Mike 214 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 Sure, if you want to break the nice vent boost on the BTTF II DeLorean
CJ O'Hummer 10 Report post Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) Most likely. The camera stays still all the time. actually it doesn't. maybe for 100 ms, just before the sequence in front of the DeLorean is shown. But not for the rest of that sequence with the "glowing" flux capacitor. Edited September 9, 2010 by CJ O'Hummer
Dragon King 15 Report post Posted September 9, 2010 photoshopped still image? ironically that's a vid I think blue made... as it is on the BTTFHV youtube account
Mike 214 Report post Posted September 9, 2010 Actually, it's not on the YT account. CJ, it was either a still image that was photoshopped, or the effects were done post filming. Either way, it's not possible in VC so don't persist with pushing the issue.
CJ O'Hummer 10 Report post Posted September 11, 2010 ok, no problem.
