Crysis Delorean in SA

Recommended Posts

oh remember that thing I said about it not working in VC? I lied. Coding error caused it to crash, not the car, lol.

So the answer is, why yes, VC can support really high-poly cars.

And a bonus

Just as a quick note of those of you wondering why Crysis looks so clean.

VC and SA are not able to use all of the textures, so its missing the specular mappings and normal mappings. These mappings would give extra detail, such as bumps and ridges on a few parts (hood for instance) and would give the brushed stainless steel look. Sadly, Renderware is too primitive to use those.

Our DeLorean with the Crysis' Wheels? Looks cool.

Neither of them is perfect, but both of them have benefits for each individually.

Oh and you took the time to again convert it :P?

Pure epic win. I want that DeLorean (too bad I can't have it). :dribble2:

The Crysis DeLorean makes VC look like a different (and better) game engine lol.

I will say....i love the wheels

Just so you know, the crysis delorean, without the damage/lod models, is 160k polies. Meanwhile, ours is 45k.

frankly speaking, crysis's textures are about the same as ours, or at least the later textures to come out of the Delorean. The additions that were added since the mod began are really hi-res compared to the rest of the car that had textures from 10 years ago. While the stock Delorean was mostly untouched, almost all of the time travel stuff has the newer textures.

Its really the model thats lacking, not the textures.

Good example: Go look at the picture showing the passenger pontoon (with the green tubes and blue capacitors). On the inside, just behind the passenger's seat is a box. Now compare that box between Crysis's and ours and you'll see what I mean. Another one is the wheels. I would actually prefer Crysis's Deloreans with a few of our stuff on it to make it more accurate. Other than the accuracy issue, it really has the upper hand in terms of modeling quality and texture quality

For now :D

Too bad you can't take the two of them, throw them in a blender, and pull out a BTTF 1 Del that looks absolutely amazing. Yeah, I love the Crysis wheels too. And I think the interior of the Crysis Del looks a little more movie accurate, at least from those views...
