Thinking of ways to start the animation. Thought of this, but then also forgot that it was going to look the same no matter what.

I think the VC way looks the best. :D

That's the problem about 2D effects. Unless we make it to a 2-sided object with textures on each and a glow which will look ridiculous and ugly, it would ALWAYS look the same in any angle. And isn't this also the case in VC, too?

I wish there was a way to disable the 2d camera rotation crap. SA and VC can't do it, but you can in Duke Nukem. Stupid R*.

Well what's really too bad is that we can't make a custom wormhole to do the things we want if it's going to be affected by the camera angle.

Even if the rest of it isn't as good as ours (well, coils might be better then vc's), the wormhole is def better.

Here's an idea that shouldn't be taken seriously. You saved a lot of coding space by not using the glows for the coils right? What if we used that saved space to make our own wormhole animation. like someone models the different parts of the wormhole animation from the film and make it all bright and stuff. Then you can code it so the model changes throughout the whole time travel sequence ^^. I know too much work and it isn't worth it but it's just a joke anyways :P

problem is i don't know if it was doable. I was thinking a hybrid actually using the glow as the base and having the flow be modeled. But thats for another time.

ok, looking at that screensaver again, here's how they did it.

Multiple curved ribbons that are randomly generated and create a glowing type wormhole when bunched together.

You can maybe do that with the particle you used for the wheels :)

The screensaver remind me when the particle was too long ...
