bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 and some more editing of the glow around the wormhole gives this

bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 compared to the old one
bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 why can't we get this? http://www.outatime.it/ritornoalfuturo/fra...x.php?cs=126275 T_T looks more like this now http://www.outatime.it/ritornoalfuturo/fra...x.php?cs=126000
archer9234 20 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 Can the particle have animated frames?
bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 yes, but it animates at where it was, so to the user, it'll appear to lag.
Jay 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 so it's not possible to "curve" the wormhole?
bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 oh yes its possible....the problem being that it'll curve the same way across the screen no matter what. I can build it using many particles, it'll just look not that pretty.
Jay 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 hummm you'll find a way to make it look perfect X)
bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 maybe. I was just thinking of having like spikes randomly poke out from the wormhole.
archer9234 20 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 That might look odd.
bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 well, how do you make one using just spheres? The very question that made me just make what vc has. If only it were like some other games where it is able to make like a sphere with a trail.
archer9234 20 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 (edited) I was thinking of like 5 animation frames being done. Then it loops at the fully formed point. Edited September 8, 2009 by archer9234
bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 well, you can't have that shape in the movies then, because like i said, its a 2d effect so no matter what angle you look at it, it'll always look the same, as in like, if the trail aimed, right, i'll always aim right even if the cars aimed forward. I think I'll just keep my sphere, lol.
Jay 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 well cant you make it 3D ? xD (I guess not)
bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 nope. GTA never used 3d effects. Always 2d sprites.
Jay 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 oh well...the sphere isn't that bad
bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 Not really. If anything, I'd say I'm going for these types of wormholes http://www.outatime.it/ritornoalfuturo/fra...x.php?cs=181125 http://www.outatime.it/ritornoalfuturo/fra...=221550&p=2 http://www.outatime.it/ritornoalfuturo/fra...=108950&p=3 Or maybe these two seen from head on http://www.outatime.it/ritornoalfuturo/fra...=642150&p=3 http://www.outatime.it/ritornoalfuturo/fra...s=15800&p=2 Or maybe a few other seemingly less complicated wormhole variations http://www.outatime.it/ritornoalfuturo/fra...=585450&p=3 http://www.outatime.it/ritornoalfuturo/fra...s=15925&p=2 Oh yeah, looking at the lightning scene again, they had both plasma trails on visibly here. Just saying. Was going to say the coils were off, but they were on on the previous pic, so I'm blaming the lighting for drowning out the coils. http://lnx.outatime.it/util/frame.php?cs=580175
bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 hmm, looking at those again, it seems the vc wormhole is the closest to those. The SA one I was playing with is nice, but it tapers off too gradually making it seem less bright. The VC one was bright and then almost immediately tapered into blue. Oh well, more playing around later.
Ronnyboy 2 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 Looks fine to me. And if anyone wants to see the objects used on the flying delorean:
Mike 214 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 Might just start putting polls for these.... This is what I get when I go to bed early, I miss all the progress I'd say that one looks pretty good, though the bright blue part in the center could do with being slightly larger. zero 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 (edited) The old delorean headlights are back. Also means some SA vehicles will have it too How you made that the particule are pretty much the same size in the night? Edited September 8, 2009 by zero

bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 eh, nighttime's not the best compared to the other one.
bluespace88 9 Report post Posted September 8, 2009 Looks fine to me. And if anyone wants to see the objects used on the flying delorean: More like if anyone wants to see the object ids used when the flying delorean objects aren't defined..... At least that'll be fixed next version.
