  1. I still have all of the relevent files to this and can remember how I did it.

I could never get the models to work properly. The game is too unstable when putting in custom models.

For a while I had it working but have never been able to get models to work without crashing.

If anyone has a fix for it I'll finish this straight away!

EDIT: I see VC Mobile has been updated this year. I will try and see if I can get stablity with some kind of model. I did try lowering polys and everything but nothing would work. I will update with my progress.

EDIT2: Now think I can get this working just need time.

  2. Giving up on this now.

I can't even get it to work for the majority of the time.

It's so unstable even just by adding 1 car in that it's a waste of time.

Maybe it's more stable on Android but I don't have an android device.

If someone can show me how to get it working without the persistent crashes then I'll continue to work on this.

For now I won't be doing any work towards this.

  3. Well the iPhone 6 in general is not buggy at all for me. iOS 8 is slightly buggy and has a few problems but nothing too serious.

GTA:VC for iOS is what's buggy, it's just not designed to handle the models I'm throwing at it.

I haven't had it load up with the default delorean model once. It crashes every single time.

Using that model previously wouldn't cause any problems but on my 6 it causes a crash every time.

I still have my iPad 2 & iPhone 4S so I could do some testing with those also.

  4. Hi long time no see haha. I have just gotten an iPhone 6 and sadly this is still just as buggy on it. I'm looking into getting this working again but I need to figure out how it will work.

I haven't been able to put any models in and have them working yet. Looks like hardware has nothing to do with the stability when using modded models. Just a bad engine really for it, it can cope with the lower poly default models but if you throw anything higher end at it, it just dies.

  5. Don't use that model I posted I believe it's not very stable.

I did send you one on PM that is more stable so try that one.

Vice City is really unstable with iOS 7 and models so I'm guessing better hardware will prevent that.

  6. You will have to use img tool as if it were GTA for PC.

You need to copy the file veh_high.img and veh_high.dir and open it up and delete sabre.dff and add the one you want then rebuild the archive and copy it back on.

If you want to modify and not have the app be affected you should keep a backup of the files you modify and restore them when you want.

Or you can modify it and then delete it and redownload the app if you so wish.

I'll upload some stuff for VC a bit later on.

    GTA SA BTTF 1 Delorean

It's very laggy on my iPad 2 as expected but at least it doesn't crash like Vice City.

It's a shame because the San Andreas engine copes with higher poly models a lot better than Vice City.

It will be possible for the SA Mini Mod to be ported to SA for Android as CLEO is out now it would require a slight rewrite though.

  7. Yeah always do a backup, it's a good idea.

I've heard that if you have use the Over The Air update which is if you updated on your device without using iTunes you may have to restore.

However my iPhone 4S on 7.0.4 was updated OTA and it jailbroke fine.

Give it a go if you have updated OTA and if it messes up just restore it and do it again.

  8. Jailbreaking is completely safe, I've jailbroken all my iDevices and never had a problem with it.

If you're on iOS 7 you'll need to get evasi0n7 download it and jailbreak your device.

You cannot upgrade after a jailbreak and you will need to restore but you can always just do a backup+restore process.

Also I could put this on cydia eventually but I won't until I can actually get something working 100%

  9. It will be a separate for people who want to keep Vice City as stock, the app I use for testing is separate and I can play Vice City just fine if I wish to.

But as Steven pointed out I cannot put this on the app store or anything as the majority of the game is not owned by me and Rockstar and such wouldn't allow it.

The only way I can provide this mod is to make an automatic installer that creates an .ipa for iOS and allows the user to install it as a separate app if they so wish.

  10. Quick question. How do I install the file to my iOS or android device? I would love to test this mod. If you could help me with this it would be really nice!

If you have an iOS Device you really need an A5 or higher and it needs to be jailbroken.

There is a way of doing it without a jailbreak but it requires you to have a UDID registered developer account where you can modify the game files and resign the app for the iPad.

Otherwise you need to access the app files through having a Jailbreak and using a program like iFunBox Classic to access the game files and copy them off and modify them.

For Android you just need to access the games .obb files in /sdcard/Android/obb and extracting the files out and putting the modified files into the same folders as if they were in the obb into sdcard/Android/data.

  11. Ok that's fine thanks for testing!

I think some of the models may be corrupt as they did come off my dodgy hard drive.

I have a new model which is smaller that is working nicely on my iPad 2.

I'll be putting some high poly BTTF cars up soon.

No BTTF Cars yet but I have put this together for GTA San Andreas Mobile.

I have tested on my iPad 2 and it works nicely.

Follow the instructions as I cannot do an automatic installer type thing.

  12. I don't see how a San Andreas Mobile version is really going to work.

CLEO is out for Android and it is working however I doubt there will ever be a version for iOS.

So the only way is to write an SCM for SA which there is no point.

I'd say Vice City is the best way to go as I know that already works with the SCM etc.

Also the mobile versions do not use TXD's but they use texture caches (.pvr)

Import a TXD in there and it should work.

  13. Yeah as well as the A5.

I would just like to get an idea of how this is going to work as I cannot really test this as the game crashes all the time with my iPad 2.

I'm not getting a new device any time soon so it's going to be difficult for me to develop this.

One way I am looking into is making this through Android + Bluestacks.

I have no Android device but Bluestacks offers an Android environment and I have installed Vice City and it works ok on it.

I imported the DeLorean in but I can't seem to edit the .scm as it's contained in the .apk file.

I'll be trying Vice City 1.3 on iOS to see if I can get any different results.

Also I'll be modifying the SCM to make the DeLorean not spawn at the beginning as I think that's what's causing the crash.

  14. If someone could test this model on Vice City preferably on iOS that would be great.

I'd like it to be tested on A5+ iPad's namely A6X and A7's if anyone has them.

To use go into Vice City app files and open veh_high.img with img editor and delete sabre.dff.

Then add the file downloaded which will replace the model and tell me if you get and crashes or instability and a picture too would be good!

    https://www.mediafire.com/download/sbx29og27prb647/sabre.dff

No textures included so the car will appear white all over but the textures are not needed for testing yet.

  15. Hey guys!

Long time I know I haven't been working on this mod as much as I was about 6 months ago.

I upgraded to iOS 7 on both my devices and without a Jailbreak I couldn't work on it too much.

Now that iOS 7 is jailbroken I can continue working on the mobile version of Hill Valley.

I will still continue using Vice City as it works on more devices better than San Andreas and SA would require a lot of SCM work to get it anywhere near the functionality of Vice City.

I can try and make some Mobile friendly models for San Andreas but I don't think anyone will be able to get an actual working DeLorean Time Machine in San Andreas without significant SCM writing.

I doubt CLEO will ever come out for these mobile versions as people are not as interested in modding it compared to the PC counterparts.

I have made small progress so far, I was getting the DeLorean in the game however I was getting a lot of crashes, more than what I was getting on iOS 6.

The devices I have are all A5 based so it's either my hardware or iOS 7 causing the crashes.

I will put some files up with instructions soon for people who would like to test the stability of these models and tweaks to see if hardware does play a role in the stability of the game.

As for San Andreas I did get a Delorean working in the game however as it is a high poly model it made my game lag out bad, again this could be due to the fact the GPU rendering all this is approaching 3 years old or it could be engine problems.

I will update soon with some images of what's been done.

  16. Yeah I will be able to send out some test stuffs soon!

I want to use the modded launcher but at the moment 1.3 on iOS was causing crashes and stuffs so I'm avoiding using that version for now.

    @tijnjooman

I don't own an Android device personally but this mod will be capable of running on Android. However I will have to co-develop that with someone who has an Android Device!

    @Delorean88MP

The DMC-13 is quite high poly and stuffs but I will work on it soon :P

  17. Well I've hit a milestone today!

I've pretty much finished the HD models on the Mobile version, all of Deloreans bar the flying one has been converted and they are all of a good quality and they are also very stable!

To show them off and the stablity here's an picture I took with all four Deloreans.

Here are some more images too!

Here is a video of the gameplay!

  18. I've pretty much finished BTTF 1,2 and 3 Deloreans now.

I just realized that the cables going along the deloreans to the boxes at the front of the delorean were missing and I've now moved those across.

I now have what I wanted which is high quality deloreans with stablilty!

    I will add screenies soon!

  19. Yeah but the mod team hasn't released something since 2008 xD

I remember when 0.2e came out I was so excited :P Also being like 12 at the time I thought it was so cool, still do now though :P

I think that Vice City has a s**tty engine for modding these days, this mod started years ago though so at the time the engine was a good idea.

However the other BTTF mod uses GTA 3 although they have done some pretty remarkable stuff with that.

As far as what I've done today I've pretty much finished the BTTF 2 Delorean along with Marty even though he's not 100% yet.

Both the BTTF1 and BTTF2 Deloreans are mega stable on my iPad and they don't cause any lag or anything like that, they the same level as the 0.2c dels.

The BTTF1 might need fixing with the OUTATIME license plate but I'm not gonna worry about that yet :P

Here's a screenie of marty with the BTTF1 Delorean though :P

    qp50JuU.png

I'm obviously now going to start working on improving the BTTF3 & BTTF3 Railroad models now :P

When I'm done I'll put screenshots of each one up.

  20. Mainly the Hill Valley maps don't replace Vice City is because I don't think it's big enough yet.

Also the latest release 0.2e doesn't have ped paths or vehicle paths so it would be empty and obviously quite boring :P

I'm not sure if I can port Hill Valley over to the Mobile version, I'm not particularly skilled with GTA Modding and I'm learning as I go along.

It won't be released straight away I just want basic functionality with this but I want that functionality to be complete 100% which is why I'm not releasing anything until it's finished.

I've been working on Marty and I cannot get him to work properly D:

I have done what Trance suggested but for some reason he seems to be off center and still won't touch the ground even though I move the root bone down under only affect pivot.

    I'm doing more experimenting!

  21. I could technically sell the work I've done but obviously there's no clear distinction as a lot of stuff as come from multiple places.

But I couldn't sell the whole game as I don't own the game.

Anyway lets not talk about this xD

This will be a free mod when it comes out eventually :P

  22. Yeah there's no way I would sell this haha xD

    Complete violation of copyright :P

Also on the topic of copyright I'm gonna need to figure a way of actually packaging this up.

At the moment for iOS I'm thinking of the user supplying an ipa which is basically just a zip and then unpackage it do the modifications and then zip back up.

The only thing is it uses .pvr caches and it's gonna take a while for me to figure out how to modify those in a cmd kind of thing.
