  1. Out of curiousity, where are you sourcing your textures? I only ask because it appears that quite a lot of them are mine. I mean, for f**k's sake, I can read my name on the memorial!!!

Seems a bit of a coincidence that the curtains texture I picked for Bluebird and then pleated would be the exact same one that you used. Or that part of the Western Auto window display would have precisely the same toolset that I created, tool by tool. JD Armstrongs door and windows look awfully familiar too. Of course these are just a few example. Even the sidewalk texture is mine, stretched to f**k and horribly tiled.

Seems to me, judging by the crappy textures surrounding most of the buildings, that you got your hand on some of my textures and didn't know what to do with a lot them. So you took the obvious ones, applied them to the models and did a p**s poor job of it in the process.

    Just my opinion though.

  2. Whoops!

Sorry for the mix-up before LGisby, I guess I had a lot on my mind.

By the way, isn't Liam in charge of making the streets of Hill Valley, too? :o

Just to clarify: I'm Liam. Sorry if that seems a little cheeky but it does seem like you were asking me (LGisby) a question about me (Liam).

  3. They're not mine. I first caught sight of the courthouse square video some time ago on a french bttf forum and I recall having a wee sulk at the time. This was what I was setting out to do way back before I got involved with the team.

As for the mod, there's no way that VC would be able to handle these models and they wouldn't look half as good as they do now. I think I'm pushing it at the moment in terms of both polygons and texture sizes. Love to take a crack at GTA IV though and play around with some proper texturing and real time shading.

Anyway, they're very good, I think he has one of Biff's car as well. Unfortunatley I dont think he's willing or ready to release them to the public, which I can understand.

  4. Although this is mostly for the attention of ReeceMix, anybody with an interest will do. This, quite literally, is the plan:

    rplan2.jpg

    rplan1.jpg

It's not complete and I havent even shown this to the mod team yet but as you can see it's as you hoped it would be. I'm missing a few blocks at the left side of the courthouse and behind the Texaco garage/Schwinn but that's not importnat right now. Forget the old models, it was never going to be a block, that's an old design that had nothing to do with me.

Now, all these block looking buildings need modelling which is my job and, quite frankly, they are easy as s**t. What takes the time is the shading otherwise it'll just look like a big blob/block of colour in VC/SA. I wish it was GTAIV but it isn't. So give me time, please, and you'll be pleased. Or don't and accept medeKOCHER.

If you have concerns or comments regarding accuracy then please (within reason) let me know .

  5. Well my first point was that the courthouse sqaure was wrong...

Could you clarify what you mean by this. If you're referring to the courthouse in comparison to that google image then there's a couple of problems.

Firstly, that whole area is not solely the courthouse. Look again at the scene that you mention from BTTF2 and the duo pitched roof on your google map pic. That's a garage/service building, perhaps something to do with the Studebaker showroom across the street from it. There are other unseen building(s) on the right hand side of the courthouse area as well.

Secondly, referring to the google map pic and bearing in mind the first point, no matter what we see on screen, these are just sets, intended to give the appearance of an actual building. By following the google pic you would end up with a very thin building which doesn't look very practical or real. Sometimes a little artistic license is necessary.

  6. After copiously studying all three movies, various behind the scenes footage and rare, often unseen, production stills I decided to make it up.

I needed a store to lead onto the street behind the diner so I just thought of something that wasn't already there. It was going to be a shoe shop originally and I can't remember why I changed my mind.

  7. As soon as I saw the trailer I knew the license plate was gonna be sticking point with you guys.

Here's something to consider though: If Doc did replace the plate then why hasn't it come off again, the Delorean has clearly just arrived from some place in time (presumably the 30s).

I think it's just down to aesthetics. the license plate itself is iconic so why not use it, forget about logic. You might as well ask why Marty appears to have one set of clothes.

  8. Give it up! You friend is a liar!

I've had a look at the textures you sent DK, they're mine. It looks like someone tooka screenshot of the front of the textured model in 3ds and made a texture out of it and a p*ss poor job of it, at that

You think I can't recognise my own work?

  9. And so here it goes: Regulars will know how I often respond, be prepared for a surprise.

Recently, I saw a 1955 model and thought to myslef: Jesus, they're stealing my stuff. After I calmed down I realised it wasn't mine. We're all trying to model the same thing from the same source so they're often gonna look the same. it's just a sad state of affairs when all they can come up with is a bundle of sh*t.

DK, your right that is my glass texture, christ knows you've seen it enough, and if it's one texture it's possibly all. Looking at this 2015 version it's clear that it's dodgy, the courthouse front is just a compilation of pics from the movie. (Hint: it has a reflection).

I don't know how to get this through to some of you morons. This isn't just a little bunch of models I make, it's personal work. And every time one of you little f*ckwits try to steal it and get away with it as your own, I start to reconsider my place here.

I started off doing this for myself, I can easily go back to it. The only ones that will suffer is both you and this mod.

So there you go, fair warning: do you wanna p**s around stealing sh*t and get nothing or do you wanna just hold that bladder and wait.

Lastly, the next f*cker that steals ANY of my work will feel a ton of bricks upon them.

  10. This is just a goof or hoax thought up by the folks at Total Film, which was quickly tweeted all over the place. The picture itself is doctored.

Apparently they were under the belief that this is the date that Doc originally intended to travel to: '25 years into the future'. Of course as we all know he only entered three dates (four if you want include Einstein's): Independence Day, Christmas Day and that 'red letter date in the history of science'.

The only real significance is that it's, roughly, the 25th anniversary of the original films release.
