  1. They might also limit the eras or years you can travel to. Perhaps, after you've finished all missions and went into free-roam mode, you can only travel to a limited list of years -- 1985, 1955, 2015, 1985A and 1885. I dunno, but I believe it's already hard enough to render the five different eras of Hill Valley.
  2. So you're suggesting the Adventure Update would be released in a Friday? (Fingers crossed, too ) In another note: Eating raw chicken meat has a 10% chance of giving you Salmonella. Instant poisonous effect, of course. Jeb and the guys should've also considered Trichinosis from raw pork or even unpasteurized milk (lol) but I guess raw chicken / food poisoning would do. And speaking of food poisoning, why would you wanna eat the "rotten flesh" of a zombie? Still hoping for another purpose for it.

  5. Just finished playing TF2 as a Medic when I saw this. The Medic reminds me of the Ghostbusters. Cool. Offtopic SPOILER: Trance, remember that old parachute/bag model thing? I found out I really don't need to turn the sling bag into a parachute (facepalm). The bag as a clothing replacement is perfect, because I can't disable 'skydiving mode' without making the bag disappear. What I do need is find a way to make the parachute invisible. Perhaps design a model small enough to be covered by the sling bag. What'cha think?
  6. Spiders aren't insects. They're arachnids. Yeah I know, they're suppose to be huge. I'm just emphasizing how big they are. I have had awful experiences with these critters in the past.
  7. They aren't even spiders. Silverfish or "paramites" are suppose to be no larger than an inch. That thing is as long as a meter.
  8. Not for me. Minecraft's site works okay. In another note, I like the concept of the Silverfish. It's a rare insect Mob (the first of its kind I guess) that pops out of any random block you mine and attacks you once it does. A bit too big for an insect, by the looks of it, and I hope it ain't too random, like there's some sort of pattern or condition to tell if it's likely to spawn. It could be a bit scary at first, making surprise attacks like that, but it could get annoying as you play.
  9. It seems there WILL be a beta version after b1.8 after all. Beta 1.9 will be about Nether updates. And you can kill Endermen with water. Which is cool, I guess. *Preps water buckets for Endermen slaughter*
  10. @TheCoolest2: It could possibly be anytime next week after 28th. They still have the feedback from PAX. It WAS indeed confirmed in Notch's recent live-streaming of b1.8 in PAX that pre-b1.8 maps will NOT be compatible with b1.8. So yeah. I'm glad I've reconsidered waiting for b1.8 before playing MC again. Here's a good vid of the PAX live-stream footage from AntVenom.
  11. Three months sound long enough to me. I'd like to believe most of the goods of the full version will go with b1.8. The Adventure Update, in my opinion, would serve as the full version's demo. Just realized the Portal t-shirt wasn't really much of a payback. LOL. Both shirts were based from and were parodies of the original and famous Three Wolf Moon shirt from Amazon, which explains why the shirt looked familiar to me.
  12. The code for switching between paint jobs is easy, a lot easier than adding a custom paint job to be honest. If only I have my Sanny Builder currently installed, I can teach you guys how. Me hopes to get everything set up tomorrow. (good old GTA:SA, here I come)
  13. I've got a long weekend this late of August. Not expecting to see my favorite mods updated to 1.8 very soon (texture packs excluded), but I hope I can test b1.8 out this week. @uokka: No worries. This is legit. The issue was that someone found out the usernames and passwords of hundreds of MC players and posted them online for pirate use. No suspicious links here nor any other phishing crap. They're simply asking you to change your password via the official Minecraft site if yours is one of them.
  14. As long as you keep that De Lorean away from spray and mod shops, that wouldn't be much of a problem. LOL. Sure. That is after I (properly) re-install GTA:SA. Haven't touched my scripts for at least a year now.
  15. I've done a few simple code modifications (for personal preferences) like the use of the motion blur for time travel like you've did there, but...damn. That iced De Lorean was sweet. How the hell did you do that? EDIT: I see it's based on paintjobs. While I haven't tried it out yet, I think it is possible to switch between paintjobs without affecting the vehicle in ways like removing and re-spawning it, yeah? That was a cool idea, btw. Can't wait for you to share that texture. I also use Tirido's De Lorean. And speaking of a time circuits overhaul, this reminds me that I've done one myself. I've changed it to match the style of GTA: San Andreas' traditional HUD, which is a bit reminiscent to the old TC of one of the previous versions of the BTTF mod. I feel the current colorful TC is a bit alien to the rest of the HUD. Ain't done yet, and I did plan to share it around once it is, so I might restore my old CLEOs thread for this.
  16. Solvable with an easy password change. My uncle's account got caught, too. That's unless they would have a sort of mushroom-based function. Also note that the big update here would not be the huge shrooms themselves. But the new biome that will be based from them. I don't like it, either. Got mixed thoughts whether it would turn out good or not. I was about to ask Misa to make an alternative tree-based skin for the huge shrooms in case they turn out to be awful in b1.8, until I saw the "biome" part.

  18. More news about b1.8. Notch reveals a screenie of a game-generated river. Damn. I can't imagine how much they haven't revealed to us yet about the upcoming update. NOW I can't really wait for 1.8. And speaking of, while I do prefer the old mushrooms and the traditional mushroom farming, and I have doubted about the huge mushrooms being a good new feature before, I'm beginning to think they'll be in the update for more than just mushroom stews.

In other news, Mojang's new upcoming game named "Scrolls" has been threatened with a lawsuit by Bethesda, the company who developed the Elder Scrolls series...for simply using the word "scrolls". Indeed, as Notch suggested, it reminds me of the patent troll Tim Langdell and Edge Games. In the past, the company (with the help of Langdell) has been suing others for using the word "edge", like Mirror's Edge, Soul Edge, Playstation Edge and Planet's Edge, as if they can trademark a freaking word.   20. According to MC Wiki and Jeb's Twitter, the ones in the middle are the new texture for the cooked pork. Makes sense 'cause the cooked porkchop I knew in real life are brighter. No mentioning of lamb meat. I do like one, though. From left to right, it's 5 raw pork, 2 cooked pork, 1 raw beef, and 1 steak / cooked beef (using the old cooked pork texture). Here's the MC Wiki article for the Steak, showing the pre-1.8 cooked pork texture. Also, I hope the Baby Animals mod makes it in 1.8. Jeb tweeted something like not being sure yet and being discussed about by the team.

  24. I don't think the RAM matters much anyway. My lappie has a whopping 8 GB RAM. The speed is my biggest concern.
