  2. So far, ONLY BTTF came up of the idea of temporal paradoxes being able to destroy the universe. For scientists, they never really thought of it for the fact that such an occurrence is ridiculous and impossible. The universe is indestructible as atom is indestructible, so that's the "paradox" of the whole entire destruction of the universe idea. So far, BTTF only shown the grandfather paradox. There are other kinds of temporal paradoxes that work differently from the grandfather paradox, like the predestination paradox and the ontological paradox. In the scientific world, "temporal paradoxes" and "time travel" are basically opposites, actually. Prove time travel is possible, then you'll prove temporal paradoxes impossible to happen and thinking you might erase your own existence as basically paranoia. Prove paradox is a possibility, however, and you'll make time travel a thing of fiction. Both things CAN'T go together or be possible at the same time. The rest of my explanation would be the same as above. Technically, you can, if you really know how. If you guys wanna complain about Prince of Persia-style time travel, I have them covered with the paranormal/scientific stuff I made up or researched for my mod. All just want from this topic is just ideas, but I'm not complaining about having these arguments, as I also get ideas from them. There is a "workaround" for this, 'ya know, if you only knew what to do.

  6. I see a huge FAIL here. We have already had many complaining about the same/similar problem, all of them have the problem fixed, and almost all of us here have already encountered the installation/game-not-working problem numerous times already, but this dumba** went to send this PM to you guys instead of going here and asking for help.
  7. This whole thing also reminds me of a cancelled project I had named "Shadow of Destiny: A Second Chance". It's suppose to be an indirect sequel to the game Shadow of Memories where a miserable teenage boy named "Eike Kusch" faces fate, only to meet a mysterious dude named "Homunculus" who reveals that the watch his uncle gave him is a hi-tech device that can control time. Because of its faulty programming of clinging itself to the user forever until fate is completely adverted/changed, Eike, who at first doesn't like the whole idea admitting that "there is no 'life' to go back to", had no choice but to turn back time, find the "root of fate" and "eradicate" it. Should fate get him again, the watch would automatically rewind time to allow him to advert it. It's suppose to be a "user-controllable online comic book" where the reader makes the decisions for Eike in some parts of the plot, each decision leading to its own outcome and its own sequence of events following it, later leading to another decision-making. It's pretty much like the multiple-ending Shadow of Memories game, only broader and more complex. The characters and the reader him/herself would add to the plot's complexity. I am now also having second thoughts whether to keep this project canceled or continue it.

  10. Looks more like the Team Fortress 2 version of the DeLorean than an improved version of the SA DeLorean with those textures (never knew TF2 graphics is possible in SA lol). It needs some texture changing. Also, does this DeLorean make the game lag a lot? Speaking of which, you should keep that version of the DeLorean as the "Team Fortress 2-style DeLorean".

  12. As an agnostic, I wouldn't believe on such a thing until there's evidence that would prove or disprove it. I would even remain a skeptic whenever I experience paranormal activity. However, I would LOVE to make theories about it, which is what my HL mod was all about. Here's my psychic concept for my GC mod: SPOILER: Psychics rely on two things to achieve psychic power -- the "psychic gene" and "spectral energy". Spectral energy is some unlimited extra-universal energy that exists in a "mirror reality" of our universe that is capable of "influencing" the physical universe. If you're a Star Wars fan, this would be our version of the Force. Being able to access to this energy is actually a genetic trait called "psychic gene" (for a Star Wars fan, this would be considered the "midi-chlorians") that traces back to our single-celled ancestors (a very early generation) who used to consider psychic power as nothing more special than arms and legs, or eyes and ears. It is unknown to the Ghosthunters (a secret team of paranormal researchers) whether this ability is acquired by evolution, or through a phenomenon that occurred millions of years ago. As we evolve to better species, we relied less on psychic power up to the point that we no longer need it, despite the fact that our evolution was partially based on this trait, thus psychic power later became now a human vestigial (a part of our body that we do not need to live and survive, but is a part of us, and we are still born with it). What our bacterial-like ancestors used to consider as their eyes and ears are now what we call as "extra-sensory perception", and their arms and legs as "telekinesis/psychokinesis". Though psychic power is rare nowadays, all of us humans have the psychic gene. The absence of the psychic gene in a human is just as rare as having psychic power itself. This means we all, psychic or non-psychic, can harness spectral energy, and we already do so with or without being aware of it, just that you have to be lucky enough genetic-wise to be able to harness much of this energy enough to acquire psychic abilities. As the meaning of the term suggests, psychic power is fully-controlled by our brain. There are cases where brain-related illnesses such as brain cancer would affect one's psychic power. I remember making a concept based on this concept where the existence of spirits or ghosts is based from the psychic gene's ability to harness spectral energy, which always result to making a concentrated version of this energy, a spectral energy version of the living being. As a Christian back then, I was still having second thoughts whether to consider having this idea or not in my mod. Another note: Animals also have the "psychic gene". And my own list of psychic powers SPOILER: EXTRA-SENSORY PERCEPTION [Psi-Gamma / Paranormal Cognition]Clairvoyance (sight) = Seeing the future, tracking down a person where he/she is, knowing what a person is doing right now from a distance, and any other visual-based psychic stuff fall into this category. This is the most common type of ESP. Clairaudience (hearing) = Hearing at a long distance; knowing the thoughts of others through the form of sound; being able to withstand all kinds of deafening sounds; being able to understand people of different languages when they talk; hearing ghosts; "hearing the future"; etc. Clairalience (scent) = Smelling a delicious food from a mile or two away, or having super-dog scent falls here. Clairgustance (taste) = Being able to know if food is delicious or poision and all other stuff related to taste fall here. Clairsentience (touch/feeling) = A.K.A. psychic empathy. This power is all about the sense of touch and feelings/emotions. Abilities such as psychometry/token-object reading (knowing and reliving one's past history through physical touch) and empathic mimicry (copying one's behaviors, characteristics/personality, skills, experience, and even, for the case of psychics, psychic power through physical touch or being in near to the target) fall here. Claircognizance (intuition/aptitude) = A.K.A. psychic aptitude. People who have superhuman/supernatural or "demonic" knowledge fall here. Psychics with this power would consider a complex calculus equation as nothing more but a 1+1 equation to them. They can understand complex stuff, solve puzzles and do other wit-based stuff better than we can, and possess almost-godly knowledge. They are too smart that they can even outwit other psychics, especially psychokinetics, through the power of knowledge and make them use their powers against them or for any other reason as though the claircognizant controls this power him/herself ("mind over matter"). Their hunger for knowledge and understanding is limitless, however this hunger can be easily controlled. PSYCHOKINESIS/TELEKINESIS [Psi-Kappa / Paranormal Action] Geokinesis = Manipulation of solid matter. Think of them as the "Earthbenders" with the addition of being able to "bend" all other solid materials. They are the psychics who can crush rocks like paper, run extremely fast on solid ground, avoid injuring killing themselves when falling to a solid ground from a high place, cause earthquakes by their own, etc. Their rival psychics are the Aerokinetics. Hydrokinesis = Manipulation of liquids. These psychics can swim extremely fast on water, stand/walk/run on water, withstand toxic acids like they're harmless water, manipulate the flow of blood, etc. Their rival psychics are the Pyrokinetics. Aerokinesis = Manipulation of gases. These psychics can use 100% of their lung capacity, breathe underwater, fly in the air at will like Superman, create tornados at will, etc. Their rival psychics are the Geokinetics. Pyrokinesis = Manipulation of plasma (4th state of matter). Pyrokinetics' common ability is the ability to create fire, but they can also do other things like manipulating the sun. The Egyptian God Ra is the most well-known master Pyrokinetic in history. Their rival psychics are the Hydrokinetics. Magnetokinesis = Manipulation of magnetism. These are the type of psychics who can control or generate their own magnetic force, control gravity, make things float or move with their own mind, create black holes at will, etc.. This is the most common type of psychokinesis. Electrokinesis = Manipulation of electricity. Other than making sparks with their own hands, Electrokinetics can create their own lightning, power-up or control electronic devices with their mind (technopathy), or keep non-master Horokinetics from warping space-time by zapping them. Their rival psychics are the Horokinetics. Horokinesis = Manipulation of space and time. Teleportation, time-shifting, time vortex-creation and time travel all fall here. Their rival psychics are the Electrokinetics. Sonokinesis = Manipulation of sound. Shouting extremely loud, redirecting sound as though it's coming from somewhere else, mentally controlling sound volumes, controlling pressure waves or seismic waves, and changing one's voice are the Sonokinetic's specialty. Photokinesis = Manipulation of light. Photokinetics can turn to a human torch, make one invisible, make an imaginary 3D object appear as though they're there and they're real (Thoughtform projection), create illusions, manipulate darkness (Umbrakinesis), blind someone, etc. Photokinetics are also known to be "naturally-born artists" for their unique way of seeing colors and shapes as well as their natural and psychical mastery of imagery. Cyrokinesis/Thermokinesis = Manipulation of temperature. You can pretty much guess what this dude/dudette can do. Biokinesis = Manipulation of living organic substances in a genetic level. Shape-shifters, psychic healers, psychic poison-ers, genetic changers and mind controllers fall into this category. Astrakinesis = Manipulation of spectral energy. This is the rarest and the most powerful psychic power. Astrakinetics can temporarily copy the powers of others when their powers are active or in use, manipulate their powers psychically, drain their psychic energy, or even "consume" one's astral/spirit either turning him/her to a zombie (soul-less living being) or killing him/her instantly while also taking their power permanently. An Astrakinetic may go out of control and "hunger" over others' spirits, energies and psychic powers if discipline and control is untaught. Notes: - A psychic can only possess one power, unless he/she has a power mimicry ability. - Telekinesis is a type of psychic power, not a psychic power itself. As stated above, Telekinetics cannot possess more than one telekinetic power. - Psychics also possess "natural abilities" based on their "psychic gene" and power which is entirely physical or genetic and may or may not require psychic energy, i.e. Biokinetics can spontaneously regenerate without being aware of his/her power as this occurs naturally, while Claircognizants' brain can possess loads of memory and information than humanly possible. - Psychic Resonance is an ESP ability of being able to allow another person to experience what the ESP psychic is experiencing when he/she uses his power. i.e. a clairvoyant can allow another person, psychic or non-psychic, to see visions of the future. - Telepathy is a psychic ability shared by all ESPs, the power manifesting in a different way for each. While all other ESPs have telepathic reading, Claircognizants have telepathic influence, where they can effortlessly convince or fool any kind of person or psychic through superhuman wit, or even allow the person to know what they know psychically. Biokinetics also have telepathic abilities ranging from telepathic reading to even telepathic control or manipulation. However, their telepathy is limited to natural means, while ESPs can perform it psychically, allowing more capabilities than Biokinetics. - Technopathy is a shared psychokinetic psychic ability where the psychic controls or influences devices psychically or through their psychic abilities, while Technokinesis is the manipulation of electronic devices, which results to the device oftentimes being able to do what it normally cannot. - Alchemic transmutation is a shared ability of Magnetokinetics, Geokinetics, Hydrokinetics, Aerokinetics, Pyrokinetics, and Thermokinetics. While the 4 "elemental" psychokinetics can change the properties of a matter to that of another of the same element, Magnetokinetics have more powerful form of this ability for their ability to alter an atom particle by particle through magnetism. Thermokinetics, on the other hand, can change one's state by change their temperature, i.e. water to ice or water vapor. - Power mimicry is a unique psychic ability of being able to copy the power of another psychic. Biokinetics (through natural/genetic means), Astrakinetics (through spiritual/spectral means) and Psychic Empaths (through both) have this ability. Biokinetics can copy the psychic genetic makeup of another to mimic his/her power, however they are only limited to one power at a time. Empaths can copy the power of another through either physical touch or being near the psychic (empathic mimicry). At first, Empaths can only possess one power at a time, where they would lose their previous power upon acquiring another, but through experience and training he/she can retain this powers and possess or use most or all of them at the same time. Astrakinetics can perform power mimicry through 2 ways -- energy pattern mimicry and spirit consumption, the first involving being able to copy that power when it's under use or active, and the latter involving "consuming" the astral of the psychic himself/herself, permanently. It is possible to retain a copied power through energy pattern mimicry, but this process is difficult and it would limit their use of the power. (Copy-and-pasted from old text documents.   13. What hscitpe said. The main reason would be that it's taking up a lot of coding space, and it's causing too many bugs (a lot of work and frustration for the mod team). Movie accuracy is just a minor reason.
  14. In my concept of Horokinetics, they also have a unique ability of being able to manipulate physics through spacetime manipulation. I recall reading an article that says such a phenomenon is possible. Also, to make things a bit more realistic, I made it so that Horokinetics would know that freezing time is impossible without freezing oneself, that they still need a flowing time to move around. The only thing they can do that's close to freezing time is making time extremely slow, but even that is too hard to do if they don't have enough experience and skill for the fact that gravity is too weak to keep them on the ground, they might set things on fire, they can't see clearly for the fact that light is too slow to allow clear eye sight, and all other crap you can think of. You guys can go for my Horokinetic concept, or go for realism. Whichever thing you want, I just want your ideas.
  15. Since this is a psychic power thing, you can do pretty much everything related to time manipulation. You don't have to worry about defying physics and other universal law for the fact that having psychic power is all about defying those laws. In the case of this topic, you can go from just freezing a part of space-time, like freezing a car and everything inside it while everything else stays the same, to freezing the entirety of it except yourself. @RG: Based from my psychic concept, the only way to get rid of psychic power is to find a Biokinetic, a life-manipulating psychic capable of manipulating our genetic makeup without damaging anything (he/she'd target your "psychic gene" and get rid of it safely), or an Astrakinetic, a psychic who can drain another psychic's energy, thus rendering one powerless.
  16. What if one day you discovered you were a psychic who has the power to manipulate time? The power to freeze/slow down/fast-forward/reverse time, or travel through time at will? How or for what purpose would you use this power? I'm still having second thoughts whether to continue my Half-Life mod Ghosthunter Chronicles, or to turn it to something simpler like a comic book. Due to the limited time I have I can't continue the project. I even barely even have the time to continue my CLEO mods. But I badly wanted it to be done. This topic is to allow me to have some ideas regarding the psychics concept I made up for GC, hoping your ideas would inspire me in some way and finally allow me to make up my mind about GC.   18. I can run it fine on my Windows 7, Intel Pentium Duo 2.0 GHz, 3 GB RAM, and Intel GMA 4500MHD (1.3 GB VRAM; latest driver) on low (with shadows disabled and some performance tweaks).

  20. Awesomeness. All it needs is the Fly Mod and the Master Spark Mod and you've got yourself a (semi) Iron Man mod. If you're gonna make a CLEO mod for spawning the suit, I suggest you make a CLEO mod that automatically triggers the BUFFMEUP cheat when you spawn the suit so it won't have that skinny-CJ stance when he stands.

    This for some reason reminds me of the times when people, especially Apple fanboys and Anti-Windows folks (the latter includes Apple), used to suggest Microsoft send viruses to those who use unactivated Windows OS's to force them to activate their Windows OS's, not knowing Windows/Microsoft actually disables a vital part of the security that makes them more vulnerable to viruses and more visible targets to hackers (but they would never send a virus since there's no point in it with WGA around; there are types of viruses that target unactivated Windows OS's so just blame MS for the minimized security). This is the working method of removing Trojans for experienced PC users, unless of course if the Trojan is already activated (if it already is, the file will just return back OR make itself invisible so you can't find it or even delete it via any means).
