  1. Can you guys suggest an alternate name for Firefox (which is synonymous to the name)? I'm using the Firesomething add-on on Mozilla Firefox that allows me to change the name of the browser as it appears in the title bar. I want something hell cooler or more epic. I tried asking this at Yahoo! Answers days ago, but never got an answer. For those who has a Yahoo! account and/or frequently visits Yahoo! Answer, go here for points (post here first so I would know without having to go to the Answers page): http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_y...24035532AAwyfNG
  2. There's very little difference between Vista and 7 in terms of GUI and usage.
  3. In the installer, you have the option to choose whether to install the high-poly vehicles (Full Install) or not (Lite Install). Best for its security holes and super-hack-ability, yes. You might argue Windows XP's simplicity makes it the best, but that's actually both a good thing and a bad thing (if you know why it is the latter, refer to the first sentence of this paragraph). And your dad must be using Windows 7 Starter or something.

    merry christmas

    Merry Christmas, guys.
  5. Professor X can't freeze time. He just telepathically makes it look like time is frozen in those situations. I'm referring to time manipulation power like being able to freeze or slow down time while still being able to move around in normal speed.
  6. I know. Speaking of which, for those X-Men fans you can't get the whole concept of multiple timelines/universes theory, refer to "Days of Future Past", especially the end where future Kitty finally achieved her goal and traveled back to the future, only to find out that the future she's in remains the same despite her success. Which reminds me -- was there a mutant in the X-Men series that had the power to manipulate time?
  7. You don't say. When I first watched Twilight for a movie review at the theater (requested by a co-member at our junior critics club), I observed 70% of the men who watched there watched because of Kristen Stewart, 25% just convinced by their girlfriends to watch with them, and 5% real Twilight fans/readers.
  8. Same may be said about XP compatibility, I believe. For some reason, in Vista Service Pack 2, having programs in XP compatibility causes some running issues for some, if not many, programs. In Windows 7, I haven't encountered the same problem before when using the XP compatibility.
  9. True, and that's the reason why no one ever tried a vampire-romance book before. So far, no one, even critics, aside from you fans of vampire-based works, has ever complained about it. This is the whole difficulty when mixing fantasy with romance. Even Kirkus, the only critics/reviewer group that gave it a mixed review, all others being positive, noted that it's far from perfect. The thing is, vampires are a thing of myth, therefore they can take many forms in myth, pretty much like the rest. Mind you that Stephanie's vampires ain't the first that that can survive under sunlight, or are immortals and don't require human blood to survive because it's some curse that they're urged to drink blood. And you're just blaming it all to her alone. The traits/characteristics you're describing about the vampire is the the common or well-known ones, but never the only interpretation of vampires. Would also call those critics as "soppy 12-year old Hannah Montana Fans", too? I know a lot of people here in my country that hates Harry Potter, loves b**ching Hannah Montana to hell, but loves the Twilight series. Seriously, you know little about these types of books, or are not used to reading them. You'd wonder why it's called a young adult romance book. Anyways, now that Christmas is coming (or it's already Christmas for some), do you guys have any ideas for this topic in regards to Christmas? I'm now re-considering Shadow of Destiny 2. 'Cuz it's mostly about a life of a time traveler, I would need a LOT of ideas.
  10. @DK: Have you tried watching that video I posted, DK? @EWJ: Please, stop comparing Twilight with works like Underworld or Blade Trinity. Yes, it's a vampire book, but it's not action / action-horror / horror like the rest to begin with. It's (young adult) romance. Before you guys argue any further, note that romance-genre novels, if they were to have stuff of fantasy included, shouldn't have too much of it, and should be minimized as much as possible, or, for the best, it should be made in a way that it would suit the main element of the novel (romance), which is exactly what Stephanie Meyer did in her work. Too much fantasy, and the whole romance would look fantasy or BE fantasy, therefore the novel won't no longer be considered a romance-genre novel, or even close.
  11. My point was if you use Prince of Persia-style travel, you can travel back to the future and benefit from the changes you made. Like iMaster and others here said before, altering history by influencing your past self or the like (as a separate person) would create an alternate timeline. Yes, you can indeed influence your past self without causing a paradox, but if you travel back to the future, it won't no longer be your future. An alternate present you will exist in your place, benefiting from the changes you made, while you, now an outsider of time, benefit from nothing.
  12. OR you can travel to the far future, kidnap the smartest biologist (or team of biologists) there, force him/them to create a sort of virus capable of turning someone to a vampire or vampire-like dude, take that virus and give it to your past self. When it comes to these kinds of stuff, you have to be a bit more creative.
  13. Would it be easier to just "rewind" time and be your past self? Like in Prince of Persia, you'd still be able to retain your present-time memories after rewinding time with this power.
  14. You do know the whole thing is made up. Just arguing with these guys that odds traits of the dragon like its 6 limbs and its ability to fly are plausible. DC's Mountain/Forest/Marine Dragon's front legs work independently from the wings. If they were indeed attached, the front legs would move along with the wings, but they don't in the video. Like I said before, it's a genetic mutation (polymelia).
  15. This is one huge question you guys haven't asked Trance yet: WHAT integrated graphics unit does he use? Intel/NVIDIA/ATI? Most importantly, WHICH Vaio are you using? I specialize in onboard GPU gaming. If you have an Intel 9xx chipset, you've got a bit of luck in gaming. If you have something like Intel 4500MHD or GeForce 8300M or any of the like that uses 3 or more shaders, supports hardware T&L and crap, you should have only a few or no lagging problems when it comes to an old RenderWare engine like VC, unless of course the rest of your specs (especially RAM and CPU, as integrated GPUs rely heavily on them to operate) are crap. There are what they call "desktop-replacement laptops" -- huge, bulky laptops that are meant more for replacing desktop PCs than for portable use, alas the name. They don't have an MXM module, but their GPUs CAN be replaced, and they could out-performance any other laptop (or even mid-end desktop PCs) any day.
  16. @Mike: You should've asked me to help on this guide before you made it. It is possible to install the mod in the Program Files folder, in two ways: 1. Disable UAC completely before installing (then re-enable it after) 2. Simply run the setup with administrator privileges (login with an administrator user account > right-click setup > click "Run As Administrator". ...though installing it outside the PF folder is easier. Note that you only need to "Run As Administrator" if User Account Control is turned on (Vista) or set in the highest setting (Windows 7). Programs that the installer would run when the installer's run with admin privileges would end up the same. If you're using a non-admin account, Windows would ask you for one of the admins' password to proceed with the installation. Everything else should turn out fine after that. You may also want to do the same with running the game itself to make sure Windows won't block any activity the game would do like saving. As for setting the compatibility to Windows XP, it is no longer necessary. In fact, in some cases, setting it to XP compatibility would cause issues instead of fixing them.
  17. Like I've said, the show Dragons: Fantasy Made Real covered all of those stuff -- the wings, the weight, the fire-breathing, everything. Before you guys argue any further, I am again telling you guys to watch the video I posted in the previous page. The video series isn't the complete one. They took out the cheesy story of Dr. Tanner, and some scientific details. Seeing this is from Animal Planet, I'm guessing the complete one was only premiered on Discovery Channel, the very one I watched (the whole thing was epic and scientifically plausible that I almost fell for it). If you can find the complete one in YouTube, watch that instead. Since this ain't from the incomplete version, I might as well explain it: SPOILER: The dragons the humans know about originated and evolved from the "Marine Dragons", semi-aquatic creatures who lived before the time of their terrestrial 4-limb bipedal fire-breathing winged cousins the "Prehistoric Dragons", and had a life very similar to that of a modern crocodile. It is true that there can only be 4 limbs max (I'm not sure what you meant by "Sol3's spinal fauna"), but the extra pair of limbs were acquired via a mutation than a sort of evolutionary phenomenon (which is possible/plausible). The wings themselves were basically vestigial to this creature, which served as "back-up fins", compared to the Prehistoric Dragons, the ones that became extinct due to the K/T event, however these limbs later became the basis of the evolution of the human-era dragons we know in folklore -- the extra pair turned from vestigial to useful wings of flight, like the Prehistoric Dragon, only better. Discovery Channel's Marine Dragon: Discovery Channel's Prehistoric Dragon: If you wanna know the rest, watch the videos. Extra note: The T-Rex one is real. Scientists are still baffled on how such a burn mark got on that part of the T-Rex.
  18. Have you even tried watching the video (and the remaining parts)? The show itself covers most, if not all, of the stuff you said about dragons (like the fire-breathing thing, the ancestor thing, and the weight problem). Though the whole thing is made up, all of the concepts and ideas themselves came from biologists (who apparently don't have an obsession of dragons, they were basically just interested to make a sort of fictional modern day-setting story about it based on science). It was really creative of them to come up of these stuff. REALLY nice stuff. Like I've said before, it was already proven (by scientists) that it is COMPLETELY impossible to disprove dragons, so whatever times you say dragons are a myth, a lot of people, even scientists, would disagree (for the case of scientists, they would say you lack evidence to back up your statement).
  19. That's WAY better news. Sorry if it was mentioned before. Though I am online most of the time, I am not well updated with mod news.
  20. Blue is more likely to say "let's just wait for Tirido's version". We are after all having this DeLorean in SA because of its detail and accuracy, the main reason why I asked that question in the first place. Putting something into the model that isn't made by the maker won't make it as epic as when the maker made it himself. Well, unless, of course, Tirido doesn't have plans for making the BTTF2 and BTTF3 version.
  21. @EWJ: No one has ever proved dragons existed NOR a myth yet. In fact, the historical accounts of dragons are so vast, as well as odd facts related to them like how the legend of dragons were common in countries that were complete strangers to each other, that it is technically impossible to disprove its existence. It could be true that the dragon is a sort of evolved dinosaur that relies on rocks or some material of the like and its own "hydrogen bladders" to breathe flame and at the same time allow his wings to support his weight to fly, and who survived the dinosaur apocalypse through its 6-limb marine cousin, who eventually went to land during the early human era from the east, and evolved as it goes to the west from hovering snake-like ones people know at China to the well-known near-human-level ones that are part of the European medieval legends (reference from the Discovery Channel show), but we still lack evidence to prove that and other theories. @DK: I recommend you watch the Discovery Channel show "Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real" if you haven't watched it. Seeing your obsession with dragons, I better warn you about the fictional story shown here that should not be taken as real lol. (This is part 1) @iPro: lol. True.
  22. I mean can we change it ourselves while keeping the same quality of the Crysis DeLorean model (poly- and whatever-wise)? Or should we just wait for the Crysis guys to make them?
  23. Can we make the original / BTTF2 / BTTF3 DeLorean out of this?
