In the book Doc and Marty went to go get the delorean out of the cave in the middle of the night, and loaded it onto Horse pulled cart (which was able to support the delorean's weight) and covered the delorean with a tarp. 2. Remember that before Doc went into the future marty said for him to drop him a line. So of course I'd think that Doc would have visited him while he was over there. Remember we don't know exactly how long he was there between the time he first went there and came back to pick marty and jennifer up (could be anywhere from months to years). Quote
